"So I this idea about remaking FF1 (If you guys know my Gamejolt page, you'll know I already did this a parody game called Final Farcity but this is different).
The game would follow FF1 in the sense you have to collect four crystals and defeat and evil otherworldly villain. But the game is retooled and reworked to be an allegory for the modern video game industry.
For one the crystals are based off of Political Compass quadrants and each are attached to a boss that represents each quadrant and how it negatively affects gaming such as LibLeft being about wokeness stifling developer creativity or a LibRight boss about predatory monetization in games such as microtransactions and lootboxes.
The world is in a state of decay due to the world of gaming's attachment to trends and corporate capitalism instead of the techno-creative wonderland of the past.
To get the malaise angle to hit a bit more obvious, President Jimmy Carter would be the protagonist a man who embodies Amercian 1970's socio-economic malaise.
The game would become a bit more linear due to a larger focus on storytelling with some of the crystal dungeons being done in any order. Each town would represent a different gaming company. Nintendo would be based off of Ba Sing Se from Avatar because lawyers. Also the game would have kind of a cynical bend to it because of how feel about the state of the industry.
Plugin-wise since I got access to whole lotta bunch of VisuStella plugins, those suckers will be put to use. CasperGaming's plugins would also be used but I am on the fence of having a crafting system since its a lot of work to make recipes and items and making sure the player has decent access to said resources and so on. Achievements will be named after different song titles (Expect names from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Caretaker, Jack Stauber, King Crimson, and maybe Michael Jackson).
Also if this feels like a bunch of ideas cobbled together in a poor mess, its because I am still burnt out and grasping at ideas worthy of plugging into RPG Maker."
I might turn this into my next RPG Maker Project, what do you guys think?
