An update on future content

Hey, all.

So right now, we're in the "wait to see if the recent update needs a patch" phase of development. It's been surprisingly quiet so far, but I'll keep an eye on the comments in case anyone finds anything really broken.

During/after that, I'll be taking a proper hiatus from development on the game. Been having this on and off for quite some time now, so I'll take a breather to properly unwind and possibly focus on some smaller projects.

When the hiatus is over, XL will be split into two components.

Classic Edition will remain as it's own entity, just in case it ever does get a freshening up.

A copy of it will then be converted into the full redesign. It will take some time to fully complete, as I intend to remake just about every single visual, give it a style more in line with my own hybrid styling, adjust stuff to fit the newplanned aspect ratio and of course add in the minigames that people will (mostly) prefer over OCN.

I don't have any clue when that will occur, or even how long it'll take to complete, but I do know it will not be anytime soon.

Think that about covers it for now.

'Till next time!

Next up

New project is having a fun, early outing.

Pretty safe to say that Possy will be increasing the price of costumes to compensate for this recent development.

So, Plan B: The remainder of tonight will run V1 of a solo OCN mode, with an updated version coming tomorrow during the end of the con.

(And a further refined public release of this later on. If there's interest.)

Still deciding if it's worth committing to a full rebuild, but I at least figured out a better way to handle the party swapping mechanic.

While I chip away at the code for XL, I might as well show off the fruits of another thing I had tinkered with: modding custom music into Bionicle Heroes.

First signs of danger.

Save file stuff (sidequests, maps and "autosaving") might currently be a troublesome mess, but at least development on OCN is going pretty smooth.

Turns out what the game actually needed was for me to take a proper break from development and enough time to realize what I had broken.

(It was the values tied to IDing what foe it'd be.)

It'll likely need more testing, but we're back in buisiness!

New look, new direction.
