An update to Ariathia's development. Likely won't meet the intended August deadline for the demo. Also, a teaser at what is yet to come.

Hey everyone.

As you may know, there was a lot of work done towards the first level back in June. Given that I had already had the setup for most mechanics for the levels I planned to release for the demo, I had believed I would be able to release all three in mid-August.

We are approaching my original deadline, and I have realized it may not appear as feasible as I thought. This is a result of burnout, and the lack of planning my direction as I continued. In addition, I had realized that for the second and third levels, they had more complex mechanics (mostly enemy, but some player) than I had expected, so it will take some time for those to be made and tested.

As a result, the demo's release will be pushed back to an indeterminate time. I will likely be able to give a better estimate when more mechanics are done, or when beta testing for those levels start.

I will say though, not all of the news here is bad. On the bright side, beta testing for the first level and it's mechanics are complete, meaning I can dedicate all of my time towards the future levels, and other polishing to optimize the enjoyment of my program.

In addition, I can give a (kind-of) teaser of what's to come that I think you will enjoy.

Remember how I said I may or may not implement firefight as a minigame within the demo? It will, but not in the way you think.

There won't be a multiplayer aspect, as it will be tied to the campaign, but I can guarantee that you won't be alone in the fight.

With that said, I hope you have a great rest of your day.

I shall press forward and continue development, and will return soon as I get more done.

Thank you for your time.

Here's a preview of Ariathia's first level. Right now, a little over the rooms shown are complete, and hopefully I should be able to have a majority of the level done by this time next week. Follow the game's page (or me) for more updates!

Preview of the game's first enemy, the Exiled Shadoth. For now, they aimlessly roam the cave-like canvas where you currently reside.

More to come soon.

Yet another preview! We're still in Ariathia's E1M1, and this time, we're covering a new enemy: the Charger. While it has a simple moveset, this enemy is swift and hits hard, so be careful when facing this foe!

This Satuday we invite to watch another #speedpainting of our artist Daniel Faiad.

How great is this scene of #Pecaminosa?

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

Sometimes the suction cup get sticky. Small animation I made in Blender after doing my tutorial on picking up/dropping objects in animations. Crate model by jQueary (https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/game-ready-sci-fi-crate-d98deca6…).

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.
