This was it. Where everything began. The old, abandoned, factory, where they had told her she would find answers.
But she found much more than that.
She walked in, and looked around. Then she heard a laugh. A cold, heartless, almost maniacal laugh. Then something stepped out of the shadows. It wore a long, dark cloak, and it had no legs, it just suspended itself in midair.
And on its face it wore a mask. It was painted with two golden tears, round, purple cheeks and a twisted dark smile. It had eyes with a purple outline but dark, empty sockets like black holes.
It was quite an unnerving sight, and she backed up into a wall, now face to face with the creature.
"Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you. At least not yet."
It was frightening, sure, but she acted confident. Besides, she had already figured out what than thing was.
"You're- You're that Puppeteer they had mentioned, aren't you?"
It laughed its creepy, empty laugh once again.
"Very good, very good. Yes, that's correct, I am The Puppeteer. And because you know that, I'm afraid it's my duty to kill you. Sorry, Juliet."
And then nothing.
