Anyone here know a simple yet good engine I can use to make a game similar to those crappy ports of console games to PC? I'm making a exe game if your wondering.

(I'm not going to use Gamemaker, Clickteam, Unity, or GDevelop.)

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
