beta

I started playing a few days ago to try and find out what I'd need to add to make a Minecraft game actually playable for more than a minutes before getting boring. I saw it as the absolute bare minimum for what constitutes a game, and I still see it as that.

Playing beta is kinda fun, way more fun than I thought it would be.

Mining is a significant and vital part of the game. You are seriously limited for redstone components and building blocks. Your items are valuable. The game feels slower and harder but in the best way.

It's still bad in its own way; you run out of shit to do SO quickly. There's only so much you can build, the crafting recipes outright scam you, the game is buggered in some areas, there's nothing to do or to see, and the generation is VERY samey. But it IS fun.

im listening to 2013 dubstep to motivate me to finish block collisions. nothing gets the juices flowing like 2013 minecraft youtuber intros lmfao

Finally, just what I wanted, a feature that Scratch Addons gives for FREE! I'm so glad my $150 is being put to GOOD USE.

2 of these (A and D) are literally identical and given that the second one has a stray "2" suffixed, I don't think that was the one they intended to ship.

$150.

The way this works right now is like one big jigsaw: custom blocks are scripts that do a task so big, I need to put placeholders down because once the jigsaw is assembled, it'll make my computer cry trying to edit it.

It's designed to fit into 1 script.

I uploaded a WIP version of this to my testing account. There's no HUD, player or worldgen. It's just the level renderer with a basic WASD camera.

What really pmo is I just wanna like, talk to a Scratch dev and just give em my 2 cents in all this. Or a community manager, or something.

Their feedback form for Scratch membership is a Google form. I'm not joking. It's a one-way street here. $150.

in other news, im having fun making this. not much fun, but about as much fun as you can have writing a project in 1 fucking script.

I've used Unsandboxed for so long seeing white text here is jarring 💀💀
