Calling all retro-enthusiast musicians!

I’m considering hosting a classic module music competition in a few days, would probably be a weeklong thing.

Just gauging interest, how many people would be interested this? More info in article.

Mostly likely communication for this would be handled over IRC chats like the good ol’ days of the demoscene.

Based on interest, I’ll decide if people would rather do a pack in which I give you samples and you make whatever with them or a set theme where you must create the samples for it yourself.

Not sure what classic modules are, or unfamiliar with music tracking? I’d recommend doing some research online before the compo happens and seeing for yourself! Mod tracking is a really fun and unique way to write music and I hope people have a good time with this.

For software, anything that creates classic modules is allowed. Most likely I’d recommend OpenMPT or the like. You can find more info here.

As mentioned I’ll update this based on interest over the duration of the poll!

This is a Game Boy game that I developed with some friends for a game jam on Battle of the Bits. It's a puzzle game about a dockyard worker.

Feel free to give it a try!
