Can I express my massive disliking towards something I see ALL THE TIME on gamejolt/twitter/reddit? (article obviously)
(disclaimer: I don't see this all the time, just a lot and I hate it)

Ok, so first let's imagine this, you draw something, you are fairly proud of it! You decide, "This is so good I am gonna post this on (website name)!" you post it, and in a few hours it gets 10-100 or something likes or upvotes or whatever. And then you wait about a week, that number has hardly gone up. You wonder why a bit? And then you think, "oh it must be there are better artists! I should look at them to get inspiration!" you go onto the website page, scroll down juuust a bit, and the reason why you thought you were getting so little upvotes/likes was thrown out the drain. Somebody has posted your art work! Without crediting you, without even asking, and not only that, they didn't claim it was theres.

This is the thing I will be talking about. And I will mainly keep this simple. So the scenario I just made you imagine happens everywhere and it sucks. People will post a picture they didn't make and say "I found this art work" and not credit anybody, now sometimes the artwork will have the name of the person on the paper, but most of the time, it is just not there. You know how many likes this shit gives? HUNDREDS, if you are a person that does this please don't do it.

The reason I say don't do this and that this is bad, is because it is blatant art theft! You are taking something that isn't yours and using it for your own gain! Now you could argue "PFfffff everybody will know who this artist is if i post this!" Sadly we live in the real world where that doesn't happen. If you want to post art that isn't yours, pleeeeeeeeeeease pretty please make sure you credit! It helps everybody in the situation.

You know what makes me the most mad? Out of alllll of this, it is the people liking the art! Like, you should know if a person says "Oh look what I found" the first thing you should do is ask the person to credit the original artist! Not like the post and follow them! That straight up makes the situation worse by basically laughing in the face of the artist. That is how I see this entire thing, if you find art that isn't yours and post it, and people follow you and like the post, that is the people laughing in the faces of the artist.

Now you could also argue that "What if the person doesn't know who made it? Or doesn't know where they found it?" Simple! If you don't know where your found it, or who made it, DON'T POST IT! God it is so fricken simple! Every single one of us have the option to not say or post things, and you know how I know we have that option? Because 99.9999 percent of us have brains, and also have the ability to not press the "post" button. So please if you don't know who the artist is, then PLEEEEEASE don't post it. And if you do? PLEEEEEASE credit the artist.
