CAVE! CAVE! Episode 1 announced!

Howdy Game Jolt, maybe it won’t sound like a big news (as we wouldn’t have called it “Episode 0” since the beginning) but today we are happy and proud to announce that Episode 1 of CAVE! CAVE! DEUS VIDET is officially in the making, due to be released by September 2014 for Jheronimus Bosch 500 Foundation!

Hoodie (or shall we say @h00die96) will take a step further into the wild world of the art of Bosch, more questions about the mysteries of the Dutch Master’s works will be posed and yes, some anwers will be revealed too. Maybe ;-) Just like its prequel, Episode 1 will be a Ren’Py visual novel so expect PC, Mac and (fixed) Linux versions with a brand new original soundtrack, yet stay tuned along the next 9 months as more surprises are on their way. If you already experienced Episode 0, feel free to keep on giving us suggestions about CAVE! CAVE!’s story, style, gameplay or whatever. Such as (not-so-much-of-a-spoiler): which one of its two main storylines did you enjoy the most and why?

We chose today for this announcement not only for wishing all of you a rad New Year but also because exactly one year ago, on Dec 31 2012, we posted this little video pitch on YouTube in order to enter Bosch Art Game competition and making our first reckless step into game design and well, here we are 365 crazy days after. To say it “Jedi-style”: “Do. Or do not. There is no try” :-) And that’s a lesson that Game Jolt and the whole indie gaming community demonstrates day-by-day so keep up the great inspiring work everyone!

One last little bonus: here you can download a nice set of hi-res CAVE! CAVE! artworks originally made for printed promotional postcards we distributed during Bosch Art Game events and presentations, hope you like it as desktop wallpapers or whatever.

Love and be seeing you!

PS: we know it’s a bit like aiming for the Moon but we submitted CAVE! CAVE! to IGF 2014, here’s our entry. Spread the word about it if you will and who knows, maybe we’re going to land among the stars…

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.

Call it 'wrong turn'!🚫 The feeling of running into a house with only one exit🚪, and being doomed to die. #pixelart #pixelartist #pixelartwork #art #pixel #indiegame #IndieGameDev #indieartist
