Game JAMs are good to experiment new ideas, and for this editon we experimented the following game mechanic :
You control a creature that can duplicate.
Each duplication make the object inside a “chaos field” instable, so they’ll duplicate aswell or get strange behaviour.
The chaos field will extend to cover all your creatures, so the more creatures you have the bigger the field, the more chaos you provoke.
as for all game jams, the time constraint don’t allow to implement all game ideas : we was only able to create three levels and for world instability we only implemented environemental objects duplication.
other interesting objects behaviour could be :
Gravity inversion or suppression
Floor destruction
Black holes
Some creatures becoming creazy
Ennemies spawn
…etc
if the game is apreciated, we’ll rebuild it from scratch with the same mechanic many many levels, and better polishing of course.
