Chapter 6 Dev Update - Almost There!!! + Planeptune Upgrade!

I'm pleased to announce that Chapter 6 is now fully playable from start to finish. Just needs a bit more polish before a new release is ready.

After 4+ years of other obligations getting in the way as well as some occasional creative and writer's block, we are finally nearing completion of Chapter 6. This update, if my playtest save file is to be believed, will add around 5 hours of new content, putting the total to around 17 hours of gameplay - that's roughly the length of an official Spin-Off title!

In my opinion, the overall quality of the game has steadily improved ever since Chapter 5, from the dialogue to the event/cutscene sequences. And now that I am six Chapters deep into development, potential players getting put off or losing interest before they actually get to see any of that polish is becoming a growing fear of mine. I suppose such is the consequence of taking on such an ambitious project as my very first foray into RPG Maker. The more I got familiar with the engine, the better I got at using it, but it also meant I was creating a huge disparity between the quality of the earlier vs later Chapters.

To try and alleviate this problem, I've been revisiting the earlier Chapters and rewriting some awkward sounding dialogue, but more importantly, as you can see in the picture above, I've also attempted to update some maps. Planeptune has been given a lot more blues and violets as well as some building exteriors that more closely resemble the ones seen in SvS!

The rest of Chapter 1 certainly could use a facelift as well, but I have settled with updating Planeptune and the first dungeon of Chapter 2 for now, so as not to delay this upcoming release any further. I also can't promise that the other nations will receive the same kind of treatment especially as there aren't any open environments for me to use as reference unlike Planeptune which is explorable in both V/R;B3 and now SvS.

v1.11 is on track to be released sometime this October. I still need to playtest and tune the Chapter 6 endboss as well as compose the cutscene that brings players into the next Chapter.

A Shiny New Logo!

This has been on my to-do-list for a while, but only now have I come up with a design I was happy with.

I may still make some minor edits, so I won't be updating the banner or the title screen with this new logo until the next release.
