Day 7 - Enemy script and explodables

Today was the first time it felt like a game. It’s even kind of fun, I spent a lot of time playing and not working, actually.

The AI is so simple it doesn’t deserve the title, but it’s what I set out to do and it works great. The movements control are much better, more responsive and predictable. The explodables system is aaaalmost ready, I just have to make a couple of tweaks to call it done, but I’m really tired now. I also have the lamest car model ever made to explode, and tomorrow there will be street lights, photocopiers and coffee machines to explode as well. It will be beautiful…

There’s a video showing the gameplay tweaks and the enemy shooting and getting beaten up in the game page, but not the explodables yet.

I made a punch animation for the player but because of a poor design choice of mine (I didn’t understand the mecanim system before) I can’t blend the punch with the other animations, idle and running. So there’s no punch. But that’s ok, the player rams into the enemies and no one can tell. There will be the classic “PJTSH” punch sounds from old action movies, that I intend to produce with the high technology of my mouth and a microphone.
