Hey all,
There were some bugs reported that we've already fixed in our current build, and we've been turning down the difficulty - but that's not why the demo was taken down.
The reason was that performance was a major issue for some people. Almost all of my play-testers had absolutely no issues running the game on DX9 - 60fps constantly with low GPU usage, so I assumed that on most computers that it would run fine, and then we could just patch in DX11 in a later update if there were any issues.
If you could refrain from sharing the demo we uploaded or uploading videos about it, we would greatly appreciate it.
The reason I put the demo out was because on our ends, the game ran fine, the feedback from testers was all good and it seemed ready to launch. A few of my friends were really wanting me to get the demo out and decided to just do it, since we thought everything was good - and I didn't want to end up disappointing them. I was super stressed out and anxious about the demo and thought I'd be able to just drop it with performance issues being minimal.
It was something I decided to do and I will put the blame on myself for it.
We suspect the performance has something to do with AMD graphics cards running the game, as most of our testers happen to have NVIDIA GPUs - myself included.
We are just going to wait for a DX11 version to be compiled before uploading any more builds. I didn't think performance was going to be this mixed.
I can't give a time-frame on when this will be done - time will tell.
We've been greatly, greatly appreciating the feedback and criticism and it'll hopefully lead to a better game.
I'm sorry guys.
