so how it works (in simple terms) is...
GameJolt's site has this API thingy, and in it there's a Database section, with that you can store variables (only text really but it can still be used in its own ways)
There's two types of stored variables, user-defined (self-explanatory) and global (all persons) and with the GLOBAL one I can obviously just set it and have the version number show up as the latest version NO MATTER the game version (unless its an update which doesn't include the API, in which is basically impossible unless you have the very early Survival demos from Zedbobalypse)
TL:DR: The latest version of the game can be shown, letting you know if your version is outdated, without the need for a billion GameJolt posts, removes alot of clutter and makes it easier to alert players of updates. (and actually important posts instead of HEY GUYS I RELEASED VERISON 1 + 1 IT ADDS A FUCKING TOILET THAT IS ALL OK BYE)
also i forgot to mention some NEW projects coming out later at some point so basically theres like an idiot box remake which only SUPER old followers know of its existence since its very near the beginning of my shit near the time MKHE 1 was made actually but like theres also this funny krabby warfare game which is based off a very personal thing so basically nobody will understand what its remaking but you know the thing that matters is that i playtest it for quite a bit already in a early state WHICH should mena the final product good!!!! and also teletubby playground which is sort of the base template for these games which is a remake of project custard with the content it actually needs or needed but never got ESPECIALLY since ive gotten alot more information since mainly multiplayer shit and like uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh other stuff so expect those games to release soon aswell
important shit is highlighted in bold font
