Dev-log (Important)


Woah it's late at night! :o, Err-, I meant to say my usual introduction...

Yappin'

Hey everyone! Alex here! This is gonna be a longer dev-log than usual. You may see this as 'bad news' but personally, I see this as good news.. My motivation for Frankie's has been skyrocketing lately and I'm feeling REALLY great about this project. I've been working on another un-annoucned project which has also helped too because I found myself satisfied with the out-come of some of the things I had been making for it. That has led to me working on Frankie's a little bit more now and I have come to the conclusion that I am going to remake almost everything for the game (Expect for the models, of course.) This means the map, ui design, and the game itself. I found that almost everything was made quick and messy for the game files. So while this does set me back a bunch it's for the greater good because I am indeed learning as I go on!


Frankie's

During all this; ideas upon ideas popped up into my head for Frankie's and they're definitely noted and will be put into fruition - for Frankie's being a 2D game made inside of Game Maker Studio I do plan for the game to be huge. So don't expect any release dates soon or a release date set for 2024.

I want to perfect Frankie's the best I can. So even if this game takes four years to finish just have patience :)

Frankie's may just be like JOLLY 4, POPGOES Evergreen, or even FNaC 4. Good games TAKE TIME when being developed by a single person/a small indie team. (I'm a 3 man team but would love to look forward to expanding).


Story

The key elements to the story for Frankie's is practically finished, but with the plans I have to expand the length of the game definitely means I'll have to add-onto the story and change some things here and there!


Stuff

Trust me and the team though. Once this is finished I'm sure a lot will enjoy Frankie's which is a goal I want to achieve. I just want to make good games for people to sit back and enjoy (and to get some good scares in!!)

So since we are basically back at square one I'm going to learn from the previous mistakes I made and take steps carefully.


Gameplay

I don't want to make the game boring and repetitive. You WON'T be stuck in one room and I want to make the game have a nice mix of gameplay. And for those maybe getting the wrong idea, I don't want to make the game like Sister Location either so no worries.

Even though Frankie's is a 2D game and there's only so much you can do in a 2D based game-engine, I have some neat ideas for gameplay.


So what is all this?

Basically to tell everyone the game is back at sqaure one but development is going to go a lot smoother this time and that even if the game is taking as long as some other well known games in the fnaf community, it'll be worth the wait and that I don't wanna rush this because some people could get rowdy while waiting.
