Development Continues

Hi all! Sorry for just vanishing in thin air for an entire year, but I’ve been busy with my real job, and developing another game for the mobile platform. Anyway, I’m taking a break from that other game and thought of riding the GMW saddle once again.

Of course, I didn’t come back empty handed. I’ve already made some changes in the game since. However, most of the development has been on the mobile front (yes, I’m deploying this for mobile as well, because I can). This means no new content yet. What I have though is polishing of the already existing ones. The screenshot I attached is from the android version. I know, it shouldn’t concern you guys, but everything will be carried over to the web version, except for the typical mobile features.

Keep checking back and catch up on my development progress.

Started prototyping the Player Assist feature. With a press of a button you can summon party members that will perform their special attacks. I know it looks like Ender Lillies but my inspiration was the Marvel vs Capcom games.

Made some adjustments to the boss AI so that the fight is more strategic, less spammy. This is meant to be the first boss encounter. What do you guys think?

Done with character swapping! Swap between the melee tank (Aether) and the long ranged mage (Myst). It's gonna be be fun designing levels that accommodate contrasting play styles. #screenshotsaturday

I thought I had move on...but Google Play warned me to update my app to support the latest Android version or else it would be taken down. Now I have new gameplay ideas so I decided to make another update. Coming to Gamejolt soon!

Title Screen Here’s the new title screen for the game. It shows a bunch of gnomes stealing from your barn! I think this gives the player a sneak peek of the gameplay. Also it’s better than a static drawing, in my opinion.

Concept design for the Dark Forest level. #gamedev

Player Assist work in progress. Close, long, and mid range attacks. #gamedev #godstear #madewithunity

Title Screen v3

Update 1.1.8c is out now. With this I have optimized the game to take up around 300mb of RAM. Hopefully this eliminates all those ANRs and crashes! Check it out: https://tinyurl.com/2s43rhk8

Here's to hoping 2021 will be much better than 2020. Happy New Year!
