The Current State of Lupus Ex Machina ~ Prefice
"To get a better understanding of Lupus Ex Machina's current state of development, it'd be best to look to how we got here.
When Delta (Creator of LEM) first started creating prototypes and writing the story or LEM, it was mainly started as a fun creative outlet with no serious end-goal in mind. Just a simple 15 year old at the time creating original characters, drawing art for them, and writing stories that would eventually lead to the long term writing of several entries in a single continuity.
Around 2020, Frictionite Studios came into fruition and thus represented LEM as one of its debut titles. Delta Hawkins took LEM out of casual development at the age of 19, and went off to find voice actors, composers, and several other helpful individuals that would later become integral parts of LEM's development. For now that Delta's workload had been lightened, development finally began to move forward towards seeing the light of day."
The Current State of Lupus Ex Machina ~ Article
"Lupus Ex Machina is currently caught in an odd game of 'development tennis.' Delta wrote the script, the VAs voiced it, back to Delta for animations and a beta build, then to the composers for music and sound design, then off to Delta again to start finalizing things, then to the beta testers for bug fixing and last touch-ups, then off to release.
At this time, Map Design and Cutscene Animation are the two largest workloads that are preventing LEM from being anywhere near completed. Delta alone has had to manage this workload, and as such, has slowed development down significantly as a result.
As for hiring help, digital artists and animators require much more compensation for their work. Volunteers are always welcome, but at the end of the day, only so much time can be delegated towards unpaid efforts.
Till there are more volunteer artists or animators to help lift the workload, Delta's having to carry this project with a steady grind. Slowly moving, but moving nonetheless."
