[Devlog #10] - Map Editor

Hi all,

Welcome to the next devlog of Ninkyo Dantai II,

I have spent a significant amount of effort on the development of my game, it has been difficult which is why I thought I should make a map editor tool for my game too.

I have decided to create a map editor tool that will greatly allow me to develop the game a lot quicker.  While the tool is still in progress, I remain dedicated to its continued refinement. The beauty of this solution is that I can also utilize the map editor for my other projects, such as Mass Warfare and Edge of Horizons.

Map Editor

Here are some of the features of the map editor

  • New features like pixel spacing - Adjust pixel snapping of close objects to a given integer.

  • Searchable list - Select an object from the list to modify

  • Selecting instances - up to the 64 nearest instances to your current position

  • Overhauled UI for map editor in terms of usability

Note: This dev-log is back dated to some time in August 2022.

Sweet, got terrain working now. Now I can start building the first city. (Terrain will be the back-drop for now)

Streets are getting bigger... and a bridge. I'm going to be focusing on creating new types of buildings, etc before doing any texturing.
