Albeit a bit overdue, I'm very glad to share the next update post about Playtime with Percy! This ones going to be a bit shorter than the last one, mostly because we've been chipping away at making the game slowly but surely. Though, we're trying not to reveal too much about it for now, but there's things I can indeed go over! Starting with:
NEW TEAM MEMBERS
Since the last post, we've brought on some new members to help with the game! Most notably @SherryZMax , @Diolun and @Sunset64 !
@SherryZMax is helping us out with animating the jumpscares! They've been KILLING it so far with the end result, I believe these to be significantly better than the jumpscares seen in The Banana Splits: Serial Silliness, and the rest of the team seems to agree as well, we can't wait to show you the rest of these in game!
@Diolun was also added to the team, he helps test the game out to find bugs, make sure everything works, and even suggest balance changes to make the game hard, but fair. So far him, alongside the rest of the testers have been doing a great job of making sure the game is bugless!
Additionally, we've also brought on board @Sunset64 to help make the screamers for the characters. You might best know him from his work on Mario '85. But he's been a great help, and we're glad to have him on the team as well!
New team members are always a blast to get on board, we have a lot of fun making the game to make sure you guys find it fun. And we've had our fun with it for sure! Every member contributes something that can help make the game what it is today, for example...
@SherryZMax animated that jumpscare you see at the top of the post, with backing DYNAMIC ambiance made by @MartinArthur ! Not to mention @PieceOfKake helped make the sounds you hear (before the jumpscare), and @Sunset64 made the screamer you hear in the back! It's really amazing how the team can make a lot of progress happen, and speaking of progress...
GENERAL PROGRESS UPDATE
Playtime with Percy is indeed been actually worked on! On my end, the main gameplay is MOSTLY finished, alongside with all of the After-Night Minigames. The only thing we're missing is the jumpscares to be properly coded and put in, but also a bunch of minor stuff like Sound Mixing, UI Elements, Balancing, and other miscellaneous things for both the Main Nights and After-Night stuff, it's taken awhile to do!
"Is the game almost ready yet then?" No! Far from it! There's still a bunch of stuff we have to make; Finishing the Cutscene art, the Bonuses (or Extras) menu, make sure all the Gamejolt Trophies function, and a whole new gameplay section with a... wait, did I say too much? Sorry!
We can't talk about him just yet.
QUESTIONS ANSWERED
I know you guys always have your questions about the game, thankfully however, I'll answer some of those questions right here! Hopefully this lays some questions to rest, or even prepares some new ones!
"Is the game releasing to Android / IOS Devices?"
The game will not be releasing or ported over to Android Devices, I simply do not have the time to do it. The game also is not made to run on a phone. The same applies for Mac and IOS. You only need a Windows OS to run the game; if you don't have one, too bad.
"Will the animatronics have voices?"
The animatronics will NOT have voices. While I think this might upset a few people, I think the animatronics are scarier without voices. I also just think that the animatronics having voices, while charming, get very annoying very quickly in-game.
"Release date when?"
We sadly do not have a estimated release date or release window right now. While the game is making smooth progress, I do not want to confirm a release window / date, and miss it do to issues we didn't know about. We are going to try and release this game as bugless as it can be on launch, so I wouldn't count on the game releasing this year, but you never know what could happen!
"What's the current percent on the game?"
The game is at around 65% - 70% completion right now
I thank everyone for the support on this project thus far, and I thank everyone for especially getting the game to 1000 FOLLOWERS, that's crazy! I could not be more prouder of my teams work with this game. We again, will try to make it the best it can be, just don't pressure us too much!
Thank you all for reading, see you soon!
