devlog 3

second last devlog and only 2 weeks left until semester starts so cutting it a bit close

Stages

stage 2 and 3 have been completed in terms of narrative, art and gameplay. even though testing is a low-priority, i couldn't help but do it anyways since it was right there. but i think difficulty still requires a lot of rebalancing, like giving more life and bomb drops and just simpler patterns

also backgrounds for each stage was finished and implemented, it isn't much but gets the job done

Some gameplay from the stages:

Gameplay

the two playable characters now have their own unique bombs and abilities (this entire time, they've been using the test bombs and abilities from the first version)

what the new bombs look like:

Also changed around some minor values for them like hitbox values, ammo amount and reload speed

What's Next

i'll continue to work on the stages where currently 3/7 are done. honestly, i underestimated how much time it took to finish the gameplay because it actually took me two days instead of one to finish. im hoping i can work a bit quicker to get all stages (or at least up to stage 6) finished by the next devlog which will be the last one.

also i realized i might have to do the stage 7 music before i actually work on its gameplay since i kinda sync up gameplay with the music in the stages, so maybe ill have that done by next devlog
