Hello!
Welcome to the mod's first proper Devlog for the project. As for what you can expect to see in each addition of the possible future Devlogs for the mod, you may use this first one as a template for what's coming in the future changes.
But to keep it simple: For this Devlog, there will be several screenshots of the original fangame, and the modified fangame as a direct comparison of what this mod does. There will be 2 versions of the same section of the game in one image, with each one labelled the game where it comes from. Do note that I do not insert my name into the OVENGLITCH Resimulated section of the screenshot, as I only made the mod, not the entirety of the game.
As for the assets used, it is still Devsisters'. Well, most of it, that is. I've managed to reverse searched some of the images the original developer had used for some of the backgrounds that is outside of Cookie Run and readjusted almost the entirety of the image. You will see a few of them throughout this Devlog, from various screenshots that I put up together. I will also be explaining the process of why I made this change below the images throughout, so I do hope you'll make sense towards my decision of doing so. Here are the following comparisons:

Background Adjustments:
As I said earlier, some of the backgrounds had been adjusted. This is the first out of all of them that I did. The original game did not use this in many of its scenes, other than the one shown above, but with how it looked, it doesn't really suit well with its "peaceful but not peaceful" atmosphere with overly saturated darkened scene, at least to me. So, I changed it to make it look like the sea from the original image and remained it that way. This contrasts with how the game is intended, being a coloring style closer to Learning with Pibby: Apocalypse, but I figured I'll change it to be more pleasing to my eyes. I do plan to make future adjustments if I can see the improvement for it, but other than that, it will be this way.
There is also a possibility of making the portraits tinted in with the scene as if the Cookies are there, but I have yet to write the code that executes this function yet. Only the CGs are affected for now, as seen in the next section of this Devlog post:

Cutscene Improvements with a Question Mark:
This is a subjective change, and some users may prefer the original game's cutscene images more than the changed version. But this modification also does replace the original version's CG entirely, with some additional CGs from existing scenes that aren't one. As to why I went with the changes, it is purely for lighting adjustment purposes. Some of the CGs are overly saturated in the context that does not need it to be. Learning with Pibby also doesn't suffer from this, as prior to the glitch effect taking place, nothing was overly saturated before doing so. This subjective change allows the CGs lighting to be more natural and make it so that the Cookies would fit into the scene. Currently, as of time writing this, only a quarter of the whole game has been remastered, so I expect to get the other bits done as soon as I finished with this Devlog post.
One of a possibility I could do is making it toggleable, for some people that prefers the old style cutscenes more than the modified version. This won't carry over to the new content, though. Only the base game's modification will be affected.

Fixes with the character scaling.... AGAIN!:
With how the portraits are scaling in the original game, some of them are... still disturbing to say the least. Take this for example. This is from the v. 2.1.2 of the game. Notice that they are all cluttered? The mod aims to fix that while the script remains mostly the same. With over 200+ sprites replaced with the resolution of all of them being the same. This is to ensure all of them are align correctly, and none of them grow exponentially large (For example: Shining Glitter Cookie's sprite are too large compared to Sour Belt Cookie's). Some codes had also been modified as shown below:

This is as much as I will be able to get the portraits to show for now. There may be improvements that I'll be willing to write in the future. But as for now, this is as good as the original.
Comparisons between the 2 versions:
Following the previous Devlog post, I've mentioned that there will be 2 versions of this mod releasing into this Gamejolt page. This is for the people who wanted to experience either the vanilla rewrite of the mod, or the extra content of it. Here are the differences between the two versions:

This is just a few that will arrive in this modification. These 2 versions will be releasing separately, but I will be putting the Improved + Expanded version as a priority before finishing the Improved version. This is to make sure I can properly playtest the new content that I can bring over to the Improved version. It will not be a huge change, but it will take some time to do so.
What is more to come?
Currently, these are the basics of what I've changed throughout the mod, with the extra dialogues and storyline attached to the mod already in the personal playtested version. I am willing to improve more as time goes on, and to make sure OvenGLITCH gets its redemption phase from a cancelled game with this modification. There will be changes I need to make along the process of re-development, but I will make sure that this could be the unofficial Overhaul that does this game justice.
If you would like to see a first playtested version of this modification, there will be a video below this message directing you to a Livestream of me doing a playthrough of it. It will contain spoilers for the possible future content, so be warned for that. The version that I playtested will end up as the Improved + Expanded version.
The next Devlog will feature some questions I will be answering regarding my lore of OvenGLITCH compared to the original lore that the creator had put inside their GameJolt page, and how will I either adapt them or remove them entirely. The Improved + Expanded version will feature a new lore to replace the current one instead, but I do hope I'll able to incorporate some of the original creator's vision inside this modification. I am expecting this modification to be finished sometime during February - March 2026, but I will confirm the exact dates in a few weeks of time.
More information will be revealed some time in the future, but if you've stumbled upon this, thank you for reading. I do hope to see you all soon.
