Discontinued Build Release + Source Code


Hello people. I think I've owed you an update about this game ever since it was supposedly going to be released to the public on this day one year back. Well, I guess it's time to shed the light on the whole situation. I'll try to make this as brief as possible.

The game had it rough with the way I went about making it. If you remember the rather important post I've made during summer of last year, you probably know that I wasn't in the best kind of situation and mood when making this project. I do not know would it have been better had I started it during clearer times for me but I thought if I do nothing at all that will definitely just get me nowhere. So I thought I could finally improve upon the mistakes I've made in the past and make something I'll be happy with. The fundament was there but in the end I've just given myself too strict of a deadline just as I used to do in the past. At that time I thought I wanted to be done with this game faster since it seemed very likely back then it would be the last thing I'll do before I could properly leave the community. But with such a time constraint and the stress coming out of the first year in university I had simply failed to finish the game in time. The game has still been actively worked on before the very day it was supposed to come out.

And the rest is history; I didn't announce a delay to ask you all to wait a bit longer, I didn't try finishing the game with the progress I've already made, I went radio silent. I was too exhausted to continue anything; I had a burnout.

Not only did I prove myself I'm still not following any of the lessons I've 'learned' throughout my journey but also made new horrible decisions for the game, like deciding to cut a good chunk of content to meet the original deadline. I've always poked fun at games and developers like this but when facing the truth I'm no better than anyone else.

The game is not considered canceled yet but the build I've released will not be continued. I've made all the work I've done available to download for anybody who's able enough to finish the game in its current state and any bystander who's curious to dig around the game's files. If I ever return to finishing this game the proper way I'll do everything from ground-up with the experience I've (hopefully) gained during its initial development and my past works overall.

I'm sorry to disappoint you with this only post the game has received after such long period of inactivity which should have been made back in 2022. That is pretty much all I can give you for now. Status of this game and every other project will remain undetermined for the next month or so. I will dedicate a different post to my situation as a whole when I have concrete understanding of what I'm going to do next. For now it's all predictions on my side and if I were to discuss it now it would most likely become inaccurate pretty quickly. Explore what could have been made of this game with the resources I've provided in the meantime. Maybe with all this in mind someone will want to finish my work, it's all up to you; possibly you'll create something better than I ever could.
