Hey everyone, long time no see!
It's finally 2025! And you know what that means?
New Devlog time!
We're going to show you all what we've been working on through 2024, since we've been kinda secretive about the game's development up until now...
This devlog is going to be a bit different from the previous ones, and that's because we're taking a new approach on how we handle our devlogs, so let us know what you think of this new style in the comments or on our DISCORD!
Having said that, let's get started!
As you've probably seen, we've been featured in UNDEREVENT as a special mention!
That means that we've released the TRAILER for our future demo!
You can take a look at the trailer in the EVENT SHOWCASE along with every other project featured in it, or on our YOUTUBE CHANNEL.
In this devlog we're going to discuss most of the stuff showcased in the trailer, since we know you're all probably wondering some things...
Firstly, yes, there's going to be completely new areas that will replace "The Ruins", the first one you'll see is called "The Grotto", and we've been keeping it secret for an entire year, among some other things!
The track for The Grotto is done and you can listen to it by either going to our SOUNDCLOUD page, or by clicking the link below!
We're not going to say how you end up in this new area though, cause' that would ruin the fun! :P
Next, we want to announce that the dash ability won't be a one-time-use mechanic, but rather an ability that will last THE ENTIRE GAME!
And that includes the overworld, not just the battles.
On another note, a long time ago, we stated that you would be encountering the HARD MODE enemies for a reason.
Well, the reason for this is because they live in the Hardmode Resort, a small sub-area, that is located somewhere deep inside The Grotto!
Right now we don't have much sprite progress on it, but we do have a finished track that we teased earlier this year on our DISCORD!

To finish this section off, I want to answer a question that most of you are thinking right now:
Q: "When is the DEMO coming out? Is there a release date?"

...Well, no.
We all collectively revised the script of the entire game sometime before the beginning of 2024, (don't worry, this will be the last time, we promise), and weren't proud of how the old stuff was written.
It wasn't a slight re-write, and ever since, it was decided that we were going to make completely new areas in the future, and thus, it took quite some time to get it done right.
That being said, the DEMO is currently ABOUT 30% done.
(Take into account that with the re-write on 2024 we had to re-do pretty much everything we had, except for some OSTs)
As you can see, we've been working hard behind the scenes to bring you new content, but we've also been REMAKING stuff behind the scenes!
FRIENDLINESS PELLETS (Flowey's Battle Theme), was decided to be remade to fit more with the current vision that we have for Flowey's fight since it's not going to be as emotional nor intense this early on in the game.
We're also remaking some other themes, but we're not gonna spoil which ones just yet, so you're gonna have to wait for them just a little longer...
Not all the remakes are about music though!
We've also remade the entire Ruins' tileset to fit in better with the game's art-style.
(Note that this remake is still a WIP, so it could change slightly in the future.)
As mentioned before, the script itself was also remade early on in 2024, and it's now way more interesting than the previous one!
Right now The Ruins are almost done in terms of writing, and while the overall layout of The Grotto is already done, the script still needs some work, so hopefully by the next devlog we will have reached the next (and final) sub-area of the DEMO! (Which we will reveal next devlog!)

Finally, about coding remakes...
We already have finished 2 of the 6 random enemy encounters in the game, having remastered the old Froggit and Whimsun battles, and turning them into Final Froggit and Whimsalot!
We've also made some progress on the Flowey fight, which has been re-located to the end of the DEMO rather than the beginning.
We're not going to show anything in regards to that though, since it IS the final boss of the DEMO, so that would kinda ruin the surprise.
For a final announcement, we want to say that the DISBELIEF: HARD MODE collab is cancelled, this was decided by both owners of each project.
As you have seen, we've been working a LOT this year, and most of us are a little tired from working on this non-stop...
So, we're taking a small break!
Don't worry though, we're not going anywhere.
We'll be taking a break up until March, just so that everyone has some time to work on their own projects, or just take a break from working on this project non-stop for a full year.
That being said, we're going to need some helping on bringing this project to life faster...
So, we're OPENING TEAM APPLICATIONS!
