So that there’s no confusion in the story of Erithian Tale 3: Yggdrasil Legacy. WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE PREVIOUS TWO GAMES BELOW.

Erithia: A realm forged by 4 Goddesses long ago. These beings have since dissapeared from the realm. For reason no one knows…yet. The stories of Erithian Tale games are all set within this realm.

Plegia: A massive nation inhabited by the peace loving warriors known as the Paladins.

Gahl: An empire that was once under the rule of the twisted man, Maxwell.

Valxen: A village of assassins, run by Lon’qu, Ephraim’s former apprentice.

The Savior: The former leader of “The heroes of Erithia”. He fought alongside Auron, Anivia, and Masahiro. During the battle against the demon god Devorus, wielding the Erithian Blade of Valor he sacrificed his very being, therefore using his soul as a conduit to destroy Devorus once and for all.

Auron: One of the heroes of Erithia, and the current king of New Plegia. He is a very powerful lance wielder who values peace over all else. He led his forces alongside Valxen’s army against the Gahlian Empire, in an attempt to overthrow Maxwell and his terrible experiments. Which ended in success.

Anivia: An Otherkin. Demi-beasts with extreme strength and speed. She once hated humans with a revolting passion, as a result of being raised in a strict “Otherkin-only” village. She is now the current resource manager of New Plegia. Despite her childish personality and laid-back demeanor, she is actually quite smart. She still believes that “The Savior” is still alive somewhere, and is researching a way to free his soul from the Astral Plane, so that she may be rejoined with him once again.

Masahiro: A former member of The Heroes of Erithia, and the former general of New Plegia’s army. He was a brash, confident, and sometimes reckless man. But always prioritized the well-being of his friends above all else. During an encounter with Maxwell in Arcadia, he threw himself in front of Maxwell’s blade, to save the prince of Gahl’s life. Which, as a result, ended his life.

Aifred The Sage: A man who used to be called “The Savior of Erithia”, but that was before the people knew of his true intentions. He sealed away Devorus many many years ago using the last of his power. Successfully saving Erithia from chaos. However it was all a ruse.

Taro: The Dark Wizard Taro. A title feared by many, dark wizard Taro was a man who caused much destruction and chaos in the world, for reasons unknown to most. It was later revealed he was in fact the reincarnation of Aifred. He had sealed away Devorus, so that the demon gods power would continue to build up as it rested. Then he planned to release the seal, and destroy Devorus to absorb that power, and become the new god of Erithia. However, he was stopped by The heroes of Erithia.

Ephraim: Masahiro’s friend and training partner, and the former king/prince of Xillia. He was a kind soul who once fought alongside the heroes of Erithia. He died a few years ago at the unfortunate age of 56.

Lon’qu: Ephraim’s former apprentice and the current lord of Valxen. Does not care much for conversation, but is nonetheless a caring soul who lended the support of his army to New Plegia and the rebels to take down Maxwell.

Maxwell: The former king of Gahl, and a twisted man who performed many inhumane experiments on creatures and humans alike. Turning them into hostile, dangerous creatures of destruction. He was slain years ago by the hand of his son, the prince of Gahl.

Elize: The princess of Gahl, she came off as any princess would, proper, polite, nice. But it was all a ruse. She was one of Maxwell’s experiments. She was the first half needed to form “The Harbinger” But was also slain along with Maxwell.

The Harbinger: Maxwell’s ambition given form. Maxwell fused himself with Elize to create this gigantic beast, however even the power this beast had was no match for the prince of Gahl.

The Prince of Gahl: The protaganist of Erithian Tale 2. He was raised as a citizen/soldier of Gahl, by his father Maxwell. However, he turned traitor to Gahl when he learned of the horrible experiments his father was performing. He sided with the rebels and New Plegia to take down his own family and re-gain glory for Gahl. He now rules Gahl himself, but many still refer to him as a Prince. He also has been called the “Hero Prince” by many of Erithia’s inhabitants.

Yukino: The leader of the rebel force against Gahl. A brave, honest woman. She valued peace above all else and would do anything to uphold it. She was once a prisoner of Gahl, but was free’d by a mercenary known as Fredrick.

Noel: One of the rebels. A former Gahl solider/witch. She is very shy and sensitive. Her memory was erased by Gahl, and when Fredrick free’d Yukino, she took the chance to run away with them.

Fredrick: One of the rebels. A reckless, cocky, and somewhat hot-headed man. He was once a mercenary working under Gahl’s name, however upon seeing Yukino in such a state, locked up in Gahl’s catacombs. He free’d her, and ran away with her and Noel to form the Rebellion, and take down Gahl.

Vira: A powerful mage in Gahl’s army. He enjoys chaos and destruction, but is not entirely without mercy. He once fought for Gahl, however…after learning the true nature of Maxwell and his experiments, he sided with the Rebels to take down Maxwell for good. He is now the scientist of Gahl.

Leonne: A Gahlian soldier wielding a Kyudo gun. He’s been friends with The Prince since birth, he once fought only for Gahl, but once learning Maxwell’s true intentions, sided with the rebels. He is currently The Prince’s bodyguard.

Relius: A powerful General in Gahl’s army. His loyalty to Maxwell knew no bounds, however…even when blinded by his own loyalty to Maxwell, like Leonne and Vira, and saw Maxwell’s true intentions, and then sided with the rebels to take him down.

Sorsha: A girl with the ability to see into the future. She is the former wife of Masahiro, cousin of Ephraim and the current scientist of New Plegia. There is not much to be said of her. She is nice, caring, and will do anything to uphold the peace she and her friends have fought to establish.

Xeno: The god of the Regalians, an ancient, advaned race that were once a civilized people. However, they turned savage and turned on the humans, who then fought them back, and sealed them in an entirely different dimension, which was then named “Runary”. He lived inside of the prince of Gahl for many years, until finally making his move, and regaining his god-like power. He, along with the Regalians, tried to destroy Erithia, and merge Runary with Erithia to form a new world. However, he was stopped, and slain by The Prince of Gahl.

Devorus: The demon god who is said to incarnate every 6 thousand years. Should he be suffered to exist, he will reign chaos and destruction upon the realm of Erithia.

Runes: Powerful, ancient weapons left behind by the Regalians.

The Erithian Blade of Valor: The most powerful weapon known to exist. Forged by the four goddesses of Erithia, in hopes that a chosen hero would wield it to defend the realm in their absence.
