Everything Added in the 1.3 Update


The 1.3 update is now available, which changes and adds multiple features to make CSD more enjoyable.

New Additions

  • Added a pause feature that can be enacted by pressing Z while in-game.

  • Curlz now has her own death quotes.

  • Green stars will now appear on the main menu, and will vary in amount depending on how much of the game you've completed. These will save to your browser or computer's local data, so they retain every time the game is opened.

  • Added a second variation of Papyrus' "I know what you did." voice-line.

  • Added gradient effects in the credits.

General Changes

  • Curlz' movements are much more comprehensible during her fight.

  • Hit marker sounds play softer and more often, making them far less obnoxious.

  • Papyrus has a cleaner dialogue animation.

  • Bullets no longer phase through enemies.

  • Reducing graphical effects has a less drastic effect on gameplay and visuals.

  • The main title theme is now quieter in sub-menus.

Bug Fixes

  • Re-added in death quotes from Comic Sans and Papyrus that were bugged due to an oversight.

  • Scores now display correctly after being defeated by Curlz.

  • Fixed a bug where lane closures would immensely drop the game's frame rate.

  • Fixed a bug where Papyrus' final phase theme would play while the boss fight isn't active.

  • Fixed a bug where pressing space in the info or settings menu would make it retain its UI in a level.

  • Fixed a bug where the player would start the game missing their special attack.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.
