Hello.. Hello, Hello?

It's been a while since we posted. Yes, it keeps happening, no denying our communication can be quite poor. Despite that, we are always here in the background! So; one thing we should do is provide (hopefully monthly) reports on what we have been doing, when there's enough to share.

Core Functionality Optimisations

2 years ago we started this journey in Unreal Engine 5, and there has been a lot of code built up and part of the journey is learning new stuff and improving on skills we already have. The majority of this month for programming has had time dedicated to looking at older code and redeveloping it to make it more efficient, better for overall performance and open more doors to creativity by removing restrictions made by the old systems. It's important that despite the engine choice, we want as many people to be able to enjoy the game with good framerate!

Lolbit's Shop

A while back now we showed off that Lolbit has an actual shop made, it's actually now been made fully functional! As of writing, the way it works in current build is that bytes are discovered in specific shops and then added to the universal shop list. So if you discover some bytes and you don't buy them there and then, when you do decide to buy them, you can just find the nearest Lolbit shop to you!

The Map

Level design is a lengthy process and we've been through a lot of different layouts for the map, every other team test build has had Fazbear Hills changed in some form. We want the world to feel familiar yet new and exciting! We also have some big ideas to make Animatronica feel alive, so we're taking our time with it to make sure it's as perfect as can be!
