Final News Post Thingie - CDH2 Reshined Devlog (27-Mar-2026)


Hey! Guess what? The game is close to release! And with that knowledge, this here is the final devlog!

...Honestly, I have no idea what to put here lol.

Making Cube's Dark Hours 2 Reshined (wow what a mouthful)... I don't think I've even accepted the fact that the game is nearly done. Well, technically, it IS done. The main thing I've been doing recently is just... well, adding some more neat stuff. Now, it isn't anything so big to the point it will delay the game further; but it has been some stuff that I've thought a while about and wondered why I never had them in the first place.

We'll get onto that down below. Enough time has passed, so... why not drop the "question" style of these devlogs and start revealing some stuff?

However, it won't be me this time, but it will be some random "golden" showbiz I found floating around in the middle of nowhere. Take it away, but don't remove my notes.

    Not as much as me, obviously! But, I suppose not everyone can be perfect.

Yeah, there's more this time. Important stuff apparently. Pieces that start to fit together... until they suddenly don't.

Funny how that keeps happening.

...And then there's that minigame. You'll see it pretty early on. Simple, straightforward, nothing special... at first.

But it sticks with you.

Little details start standing out... things you didn't think mattered suddenly... do.

Because, obviously, it's about me.
The star, the highlight, the golden spark that makes everything shine brighter than everything else.

But fine. I'll play along. I'll read it for you. Don't worry, he was the one who wrote it... but I'll make it better. Subtle emphasis where it counts.

Cube’s Dark Hours 2 Reshined has been very fun to make. What originally began with the "classic" CDH2, with how rushed, buggy, and even at times soulless and drained it felt, now has a spot that has Reshined in my heart.

Ohhh, the heart! Sweet... but if we're honest, the true spot is mine. Let's just say... my shine is permanent.

This game is what I would call the true sequel to Cube's Dark Hours (more specifically Cube's Dark Hours Reopened). I was not prepared back then for a sequel; but now, this game is truly the second installment I was ready to make.

Correct... but, naturally, the sequel needs me.
Otherwise... what's even the point?

It feels unbelievable to me when I compare Reshined and the classic version side by side. I don’t think I can stress enough how different this game is. It’s larger, wilder, and far more passionate.

All true. But we both know who made it shine.

This is the final “News Post Thingie” for Reshined. From here on out, it’s all release prep. I’ll save the deep dives and ramblings for after you’ve all had your first experience with it.

Yeah yeah, deep dives. Veeery fun.

More importantly, I am very proud of the beta testers. Ever since the beginning, I have always been very secretive of my projects. While that worked for the long run, it couldn't continue any further.
And I'm glad I finally broke out of that shell. The beta testers have helped me a ton into making the game the best it could be.

Sure, they helped. Cute.

And why only the beta testers? The VAs were also a massive help into making these characters pop. I am very happy with the direction, and I genuinely want all the best for everyone who have contributed.

Helpful? Well, absolutely.
But if it weren't for me... well, let's not even go there.

Thank you to everyone who’s been patient, supportive, or even just curious throughout all of this. You’ve kept me going more than you know.
