Hey all, it's Nocturna here! I didn't expect to do this so soon but things came up and I couldn't hold back the opportunity to let you guys in on some things. As stated in my last post, I haven't gotten a chance to write an update for several reasons. I just looked back now, and the only proper Devlog I posted was back in February! I need to stop being lazy. Anyway, let's get into it.
Important notes
So about a month or two ago we ran into a few roadblocks with the game which was a huge contributing factor to the slow development. Unfortunately, without giving specifics (out of respect), a team member left the team abruptly without warning and took several important things we needed for development on the project and future projects.
One of these things sadly was the MFA for the game. Since we weren't able to get it back (said person refused to hand over any assets), we were forced to recode everything using leftover assets, and we even had to decompile an older build of the game to get what we needed. It set us back a lot, but luckily we're back to where we were.
We kicked that stupid obstacle out of the way. We're back to working on thinning out the workload for the game, and I think it's safe to say we're back on track to getting this game done. We've even put that other fangame we've been working on off to the side to focus on working on Casa again.
Modeling/Graphics
We've had several new additions to the team to help out with modeling some things for the game. I'd like to shout out @Marco_Antonio , @TheresNoSteak , @GrayHat_productions , @Subwooferx3 , @MarcosMata , and @Breim for their help with everything. We're currently focusing on getting some final main game renders done so we can finish up the main nights for the game. After all of that, we'll be focusing on the secondary parts of the game cough cough point and click roaming segments cough cough which is usually what we focus on last.
Programming/Coding
As previously stated, after setbacks we were forced to recode mostly everything. We have thankfully gotten the game back to where it previously was and we're focusing on finishing up the menu for the game right now (hopefully going to get a menu preview out for you all soon) as well as touching up the main nights etc. Again, after this, we'll focus on the secondary parts of the game which usually take the longest. Slow and steady wins the race!
I'd like to close this off by thanking you guys for the immense amount of patience you've had with us. A post like this was long overdue, and I hope to pump this game out around early 2022. It all depends on how fast we work. Rest assured though, setbacks like what I mentioned before won't happen again. Cya later people!
