I pretty much gave up on working on this. It’s not that I lack the ability to make the game, but I lack the motivation to make this specific game series. Legends was, in the beginning, meant to be something serious with a bit of silly. But, due to my lack of knowledge when it came to creating games, it turned out to be a messily made game with plenty of issues.
These issues were fixed in Legends II: Untold Fate (though not completely), as well as making it a little more serious. Then, with Legends III: Gaiden (my personal favorite), I took very little time when it came to creating it and ended up making what I consider to be the most well designed of my games. Legends IV was meant to be something of a cross between II and III with the perma-death feature affecting the story more, more moral choices to affect Derren’s overall ending, and of course promoting into greater versions of your original class. Sadly, however, I lost interest about halfway through making Legends IV and would randomly in spurts get ideas and add some more to it, but ultimately I had given up.
This is what the ending is meant to represent, and this is why it’s cut so short. I do intend to make games in the future (not about the Legends series), and hopefully I’ll be more inclined to finishing them. I know I don’t have too good of a track record so far. But, as I improve and start learning how to do some real coding and game design, I’ll start putting out projects I’ll be proud of, and hopefully other people will be just as happy with them.
In the meantime, I’ll be focusing efforts on finishing up with school and working on tabletop products. Until then, thank you very much for paying attention to my silly games I’ve made over the years, and I’m deeply sorry for wasting your time.
