I'm confident enough in this project to finally put up a page for it. :]
What is the game?
FNAF FROSTBITE is a Survival CRPG set in the fictional Frostbite County, Utah. Your goal is to solve the mystery of the closure of Fredbear's Family Diner and Stargaze Mall, the disappearance of Henry Emily and William Afton, and the recent string of disappearances for the past few years. Also, your goal is to not die of starvation, freezing, exhaustion, animal mauling, fistfights, [redacted], and other things.
Release when?
I'm aiming for this year! I'm the sole developer, but the scale of the game isn't particularly massive. I'm limiting myself to 3 towns. Other locales are more nebulous, of course. But yeah, 2026!
Bringing in More People?
While I'll probably stay the sole programmer (my code is so horrifying (but functional!), I wouldn't dare drop it on another soul), I intend to find voice actors down the line. Some characters get a "talking head" (like Fallout 1-2) and voice acting, while most speak through text.
Additionally, I may search for artists down the line. The art style is floating in the void between Factorio and traditional pixellated RPG styles. I've been focusing on making a good codebase over the game looking pretty for now, so that's a decision for the coming weeks.
I'll probably handle music composition myself, but we shall see if that workload becomes a bit too much for just me...
Inspiration
FROSTBITE is a game born out of my love for hardcore survival games like Scav Prototype and CRPGs like Fallout 1-2 and Baldur's Gate. I wanted to make a small, but interconnected game world you could tackle however you wanted, and this is what I came up with.
The overall presentation of the game is a holdover from my previous (now on hold) project, FNAF: Research & Development. Only much harder, 2D, and also completely different actually-
I wanted to explore Frostbite County in a way that I could more reasonably do. I don't really have the skill or networking to make a medium 3D game, but I know how to draw sprites! So I'm making this!
