Five Nights at Maggie's 2 - What we know so far (Part One)

Hello, everyone. This is Philip Buchanon of Nyctodream Creations.

Five Nights at Maggie's 2 has been announced to be released within the beginning of next year. With 10 months left before the much anticipated release of the sequel of one of my most important games during the time of my Nyctodream days, I thought I'd take a look at what we know of so far of Five Nights at Maggie's 2. From the announcement teasers, to the two trailers released... To even more teasers. Let's get on with it.

For this paragraph, we will first discuss how FNaM 2 began, and briefly dissecting the posts released by series creator Manuel Genaro himself.

Evidence for Five Nights at Maggie's 2's eventual existence came around the eventual release of Five Nights at Maggie's 1 back in 2021. A comment asked the game dev, Manuel Genaro, as to whether or not there will be a sequel to Five Nights at Maggie's. Manuel responded by saying that it entirely depends if the story the story needs it. And when, the game DID come out, all I'll say, is that there IS lore, but its mostly just vague background information on what had happened in the game's setting, the Animatronic themselves, and their creator, John McAdams. I won't be repeating the whole lore here, you can view my summary of the whole story of Five Nights at Maggie's 1 and here what I think about it here: https://gamejolt.com/p/five-nights-at-maggie-s-classic-vs-reboot-comparison-udqh2vj3

But, I will paraphrase what I feel about the plot. I felt that it was more so a setup of the plot of FNaM, rather than a complete cohesive story. So I thought the game/story really DID need a continuation. Soon after, we DID get an announcement teaser of Five Nights at Maggie's 2 which came out some time after FNaM's release- I'm sorry, people. I can't give specific dates because a while back, GameJolt thought it was a fantastic idea to remove the "date feature" of when things were released, and replace them with "X years/months/weeks/days ago". If anyone has any idea on how I can change it back, if there is an option that is, please lemme know. But, back to what I was saying. FNaM 2 has been officially announced with this teaser: https://gamejolt.com/p/2-8kdabmdj

It shows who I believe to be Cerdi peeking behind a door that says 'backstage', presumably from the FNaM 1 location. Next, we had a teaser image, that goes somewhat in depth on the feel of the game. The teaser shows a shadow of an Animatronic, with bluish light in the background. Combine that with the very mechanical looking equipment around, gives a vibe similar to Sister Location. Not going to lie, this left me concerned at first since Sister Location, and the games that took inspiration from it, were not my cup of tea. And I was worried FNaM 2 was going to take heavy inspiration from it. Thankfully, with the release of the 2nd trailer, I've been proven wrong. We'll get to it later. After that, we had a quick video showing a lot of horror imagery and audio, which if you like that sorta stuff, you can watch here: https://youtu.be/l196sJUUy6M

It's unknown what relevance this brings to FNaM 2. Whether it be filler to announce the GameJolt page, or it could lead to the fact that FNaM 2 will have a darker, more twisted vibe than FNaM 1. Hey, speaking of which, FNaM 2's GameJolt page would be officially public around this time. Which you can check out here: https://gamejolt.com/games/maggies2/678428

We will look at the GameJolt page later.

Shortly after the release of the GameJolt page, Manuel would then make a quick update post. To paraphrase what he said, basically he was going to take a break from FNaM 2 for a short while due to mental health reasons, and because he was upgrading his PC. Just saying this right now folks, this won't be the last time we will hear about his mental health. The post all about it can be read here: https://gamejolt.com/p/quick-update-rnzgyhe8

Manuel then later announced that FNaM 2 would be a part of the Fazbear Game verse, where a bunch of fnaf fan games would get announced all at once. That can be read here also: https://gamejolt.com/p/fazbear-gameverse-2-qtpttkrf

After that, Manuel then stated that the entire AI and programming for FNaM 2 would face a massive overhaul to make the game better. That can be read here: https://gamejolt.com/p/a-i-update-ssyrfikq

The next post is another teaser showing what seems to be some kind of kitchen area, indicated by massive appliances that appear to be stoves, along with what looks to be a giant cooking pot and mugs scattered all over the marble table top. What is interesting to note here is that there seems to be a spare/broken endoskeleton in the side of the image, along with spare shadow endoskeletons in the background. It's unknown as to why this is, whether they be endoskeletons that we're just hastily stored here temporarily, or it's like a POPGOES situation where these endoskeletons were once animatronics that cooked for guests. If you recall the story for FNaM 1, you may remember that the creator of these animatronics was John McAdams, who's apparently a genius mastermind when it comes to technology before he passed. Combine that with the semi-futuristic look of the Maggie's location (for the time period FNaM 1 took place in anyway), and with the fact that CCTV cameras are a thing here despite them not being publicly available until the very late 90s, (Yes, I'm still nitpicking on realism in a fnaf fan game, shut up) it wouldn't be too far fetched of an idea that these animatronics could also be multipurpose machines. The post I just mentioned can be viewed here: https://gamejolt.com/p/2-ct2qqh4y

Five Nights at Maggie's 2 would eventually have an announcement trailer of sorts seen in the Fazbear Gameverse event, alongside other fnaf fan games. FNaM 2's original release trailer was... Okay, gonna be brutally honest here. Underwhelming. The trailer does show off some key lore/setting details but we'll discuss that later. You can view the video here: https://youtu.be/SN8yqZskuD8

The next post contains another teaser. This time showing a newspaper article that reports about a serial killer only going by the Alias "The Frankenstien". I won't be typing the entire newspaper article here, but I will share some theories I do have. It's plausible that "The Frankenstien" could be FNaM's equivalent to the Purple Guy from the FNaF series. Now, I'm in NO WAY saying that he is a copy of the Purple Guy/William Afton, just that he shares a similar purpose in the story. The mysterious protagonist who, you know is involved, or possibly even the root cause of all the chaos you see in the Five Nights at Maggie's lore, you just have no clue as to how they are, or to what extent. The paragraph where it states that John had died, but the murders still continue despite him, being the highest suspect, ruled as dead leads me to four possibilities.

A - John faked his death, went into hiatus and is now returning to his killing spree

B - John did die, but is possessing an Animatronic (possibly Cerdi) to attempt to kill more victims

C - John has an accomplice who's continuing his legacy

D - John was framed for being "The Frankenstein", its possible that it someone else could be the Frankenstein. Whether it'd be Robert Madden, Steven Caddel, or someone else entirely.

It's also plausible that the victim mentioned here could be the one possessing Jerry, the new Animatronic in FNaM 2, returning from the original series. But I could be very wrong on that.

You can view this post here: https://gamejolt.com/p/back-in-business-4xnyvc7g

The next post isn't something that important to the progress of FNaM 2, but it's something I think is worth seeing regardless. Manuel said that the game will be paused due to mental health reasons. His depression had came back hard. Now, I feel like I should take a break to say this; Manuel, take all the time you can to take a break. Your mental health matters more than a freeware project. If you push yourself to make a game when you're mood isn't completely stable, it could reflect on your work. Take the time you need, take the bread you need. It'll be needed for your works to truly be great.

And... That's it for part one. Look, I'm sorry this thing was long as hell, and is split into several parts. But I'd like to at least have something to post as I've been working on this massive post since the 26th of April and it's now the middle of May. I'll also be really busy in May as I'm now graduating 10th Grade and trying to look for a job or at least some form of income somewhere. That's all I really got for now, see you all soon with part 2. This is Philip Buchanon of Nyctodream Creations signing off.

John's Having Terrible Life

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

Shoobies leave a sticky trail of mucus in their wake, which can impede movement for any creature that steps in it.

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!
