NOOO I DON'T WANNA GO BACK! I HAVE SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR!
Okay, memeing aside. Hello, welcome back to the MMT page. Got some updates for you on the projects being worked on right now and life updates.
Life:
Lets get life outta the way, since that's not what yall are here for. Recently, I got my GCSE results, which is a good thing cause it means I can go to college, but its a bad thing because it means I can go to college. Not saying College is bad, don't get that wrong. I'm just saying its bad in the case that I'm not gonna be able to work on this game for a while.
However, I am going into a course based around Creative Design. Incase you haven't noticed, outside of FNaW, I have a LOT of Characters. Outside of Kirbious, Xeraphol and his gang and Fruppet, I have an Entire Dragon Ball Universe with unique characters that (whilst have some relations to the Dragon Ball characters you know) have unique personalities and lore behind them. One problem with that is how they don't actually have a design.
But with this course, I'll be able to finally give some of these characters a proper design. I can finally give Tani a design... Remember her from that one obscure post I made a while back about the Silver Back Master or whatever I called Fruppet and Gulak? Yeah, her!
It's a big step and It's going to be a little bit weird getting into the perfect rhythm with College and the game, but It'll be worth it. Who knows, I may even make a 14th verse fangame in the future.
The Part You're Probably Here For:
Alright, time for the actual Devlog to start now. If you don't know there is a demo that is out right now. I already changed the game mechanics quite a bit since that demo (Yes, including the movement cooldown. It was a little wonky, but I tried to keep the original gameplay of it but changed it so it was quicker). But the more important part of this is how I started work on the secondary mode of the game, Dementaphobia Dangers:
I think explaining more about this mode here is going to be more worth it, especially considering we have a LOT more to talk about.
Lets start with what I've already shown in the video I posted before. All the Cameras are in alongside a very familiar mechanic. Hiding under a desk. That is a "Forgotten" Mechanic. As in the game, not a forgotten mechanic in one of my old games. I wanted to bring it back in this one considering Sanity Mario also came to be in Forgotten and I wanted to bring back the mechanic.
Now the new stuff. Lets start with the Generator Room, where there is now a generator. It acts like the FNaW 2 Generator, except less restricted on how you charge it cause you can do it on the cameras. Right now, it doesn't do much besides go down and just be there, but I'm planning on adding a few mechanics to that room with enemies.
Speaking of Enemies, look at that beautiful face at the top! It's a Sanity besides Mario! I have begun making AI with one of them already being done. With 6 planned AI's for the mode, I knew that making them all be Sanity Mario would be boring (more on him later though, his mechanic is easy.)
Sanity Luigi acts similarly to Virus Luigi in Living Room 4. He'll begin to corrupt a camera and you've gotta stop him by disabling that camera. It could be annoying later on when you're juggling the position of Sanity Mario, watching another enemy and charging the generator. I dunno! I've not even full programmed Sanity Luigi in!
Now time to talk about Sanity Mario, He'll head to your office and you've gotta hide under the desk until he leaves. Simple, I know, but in the SANITY TIMELINE LORE, he is technically the most stable out of the Sanity Creation's of Emmas. Each Sanity besides Mario is warped in some way, making them imperfect.
