I'm gonna get this out the way now, I am NOT talking about how 4.5 became FNaTI 2017 (the one with the fog and Minnie being an annoying bitch). I am also not saying that everything in 4.0 is bad. I do like the models and the voice lines but it does have some issues if the wiki serves me correct

The first thing wrong with it is that it was rushed. Rushed games aren't really that good, just look at Fazbear's Return 3.

Another problem is Blackout. As you may know, Blackout is a pedo and also included child r**e in Dormitabis which was thought to be one of his fantasies. He, also, added a policy which would stop people from making FNaTI fangames. This probably would've made FNaTI hated and it probably would've been deleted like his other games (apart from Dormitabis).

Now let's move onto the mechanics. In the FNaTI wiki, there is this map explaining the mechanics of 4.0:

MickMick, Oswald, Ortensia, Minnie and The Face would've been avoided by shutting off a camera. Pretty simple but why The Face? He has eyes.

Disembodied or Donald, as it's called, would overheat the tablet. I'm a bit torn on this one as it stops people from waiting for someone to enter the office and then shut off a camera in both. That's also my problem as you might run out of cameras during the game when someone's in your office.

Goofy acts like Abandoned Enigma Minnie. I don't think TI: AE Minnie has a good mechanic as you have to shut off cameras. But in that game the shut off characters aren't that aggressive and you can trap her in cam 10 (but again I haven't beat night 4 as of writing this). Goofy is even worse. First of all, EVERYONE NEEDS THE CAMERA TO BE SHUT OFF SO IT CAN BE A NIGHTMARE TRYING TO GET HIM AWAY IF MOST OF YOUR CAMS ARE GONE! And it gets worse. Goofy will make low breathing sounds that will get louder the closer he is. If I'm interpreting this correctly HE DOESN'T APPEAR IN ANY CAMERA! But there are camera renders of him so I could be wrong or he was originally meant to be in the cameras but it was changed.

Why does every character need to have a shut off camera mechanic. You can, I don't know, RE-ADD THE HIDING AND POWER!
