Game Details!

“Better late than never,” said someone once.

Gamejam devs have to walk a fine line when rewarding players with content, particularly if they want their audience to say things like “didn’t see that coming”. With my entry, Ravenous, Ravenous Ravens, I opted not to explain one of the key features of the game (“Stopping the Light”), in order to reward the more skilled players with surprising spawns.

But in a jam like #IndiesVsGamers with several hundred entries, players often don’t have the time for a second playthrough. Combine this with the false impression of difficulty devs can get through rapid playtesting, and it can be a recipe for confusion, boredom, and unseen content.

Thus, I’ve added information about the Light/Reward system, which includes many of the game’s references to the “Arcade” genre (the jam’s theme). Spawnables include a ball-chomping Pac-Man character,
cameos from Asteroids and Pong, and more.

For the full list of rewards, check out the Game Description here.
