Yep, you read the title right. I'm remaking this game for like, what, the fifth time?
Why?:
No, it wasn't progress loss, or demotivation (kinda). It was more of just like. I know I can make better than this. Not gonna detail this too much, but to sum it up. Whenever I started on the remakes for Rebranded, and eventually, Anniversary. I was scared to try and create new concepts. Because I was dealing with serious burnout, and I felt like if I tried to model or create new assets, they would look terrible, so I just, didn't make any. That's why the character models for this game are the same as Rebranded's, because I was afraid to maek new ones.
But now, whenever I took on Welcome to Gabe's 1.5: Open Source I figured out that I didn't lose my capability to create good things, infact I've gotten better!
And, now that I've learned way more. I feel like I can actually make what I WANTED to make in the first place, a good game to me. I have way more potential and talent than what you saw with the demo for this game, I can, and will create better for you guys.
However, that brings me onto the other thing.
Stuck In Purgatory Anniversary, is canceled.
NOW NOW, Don't freak out. I'm not exactly canceling it. I'm restarting it. This serise was meant to serve as two parts, Stuck In Purgatory (Legacy version), then SIP Anniversary. And I feel like, with the state and overall feel of legacy, it wouldn't work for this game to be a way better SEQUEL game than the first instalment. That just dosen't work for me.
So I decided to just, make this serise' story in one big game, instead of seperating the story bit by bit through other games.
So yeah, I'm going to be making one final project for SIP after I'm fully finished with Welcome to Gabe's 1.5: Open Source. I'm sorry if this news upsets you in anyway, that's not my intention. My intention is to show my dedication for this game, this project, this passion of mine. Because I really care for it, and I want the best for it.
I'll probably have to modify the current project, then just release what was done after the demo. Instead of just leaving you guys with nothing for like, another month or two.
