Howdy!
Bet you didn’t expect this, huh?

We thought it’d be neat to make a little update in the spirit of Halloween. We’re still working on the demo, of course, as well as planning out the 22K+ followers animation. However, we’ve also been holding some special events on our Discord server, including the Halloween Costume Party Roleplay, and the Halloween Art Contest! Submissions for the art contest closed on October 16th @ 12:00 PM EST, and the moderator team came to a consensus on the winners.

The prizes for winning were as follows:

• Third Place: You get to choose any image you want to make an emoji on our Discord server!

• Second Place: You get to request a sprite from the leader of Team Switched (that’s me!)

• First Place: Your art gets posted to the official Team Switched Tumblr, and recognized as official content (in other words, it’s canon!)

Special thanks to our team of moderators who planned and organized these events; judging by how well they went, we certainly plan on doing more in the future!

Now that we have that out of the way, we can get to some little teasers. In addition to everything else, we’ve been working on artwork for and developing other characters, including those of Starlight Isles:

We’re sure you’ve seen this guy before. Introducing (again): Crossbones, the Starlight Savior! This friendly neighborhood skeleton makes use of gadgets, tricks, and strategically-placed whoopie cushions to rain justice upon the unsuspecting heads of Starlight Isles’ troublemakers. Just whose face could be hiding under that mask? (hint: it’s sans.)

Wowie! It’s none other than The Great Papyrus! This wacky skeleton secretly assists Crossbones with creating his various gadgets, and has created many puzzles littered about the Underground. He’s proud of his brother for actually putting forth effort, and while he’d love to relish in popularity and praise from capturing a human, he’d rather let Sans take the spotlight. He deserves it, after all!

Koffin-K, the count of Koffin-K Island! This spooky, stylish individual is one of Starlight Isles’ big baddies, who’s butted heads with Crossbones on more than one occasion. Looks can be deceiving, however, as underneath this outfit lies the count’s true form!

That’s it for character sprite references. Now, let’s jump into some other stuff!

Say hello to one of TS!Underswap’s new gameplay mechanics: the JOURNAL! As you make progress in your journey, information about all of the faces you meet, locations you visit, quests you’re involved in, and other details are written down, accompanied with doodles by the main protagonist, The Human! As you can see, they are clearly a master of the arts.

That’s right, your very own bedroom! We’ve been making progress with a brand new layout for Asgore’s house interior, rather than what we had before (which was a bit too similar to UT’s for our liking). Here’s a little sneak preview of a hallway, where Asgore shows you to your new home! That is, if you’re intending to stay here. …Right?

Fortunately, however, we have some shoutouts we’d like to do!

A few months ago or so, a devlog for a fellow UNDERTALE fangame, Aftertale, came out where they revealed concept designs for their own journal mechanic. While our journal wasn’t inspired by theirs, and has been in the planning for quite some time, we’d like to give them a special shoutout! The description for their fangame is as follows:

Aftertale is an Undertale Fan Game set one year after the events of Undertale, featuring a cast of original characters and a few familiar faces.
As you fall into the underground once again, you find yourself at the center of a compelling mystery. Someone or something is resetting the timeline, and won’t let it advance a week past your arrival.
To make matters worse, you can’t remember a thing about yourself.

Who will you decide to be as the mystery unfolds? What friends will you make?

Can you uncover the secrets binding you to this place?

I’m sure plenty of you know about the team’s former leader, Granpris, who left a little while back to focus on her own projects. Well, here’s a little crossover promotion for one of them: SOULLESS, an Undertale x OFF fangame! The description is as follows:

“With the substantial power of 7 human SOULs in his grasp and his subjects breathing down his neck, King Asgore Dreemurr took it upon himself to rid the world of his people’s greatest fear, humanity, and reshaped existence situating four of his most reliable into command as he isolated himself, repetantly fleeing from his mistakes and selfishness.

The Utopia crumbles as the dead rise once more to take the land that prior belonged to them.

As you embark on your quest guiding your pawn, the Batter, you find yourself ripped from the world you knew into the treacherous land of monsters, and must discover the path that leads you back home.”

And finally, we have a promotion for the complete release of Inverted Fate: Prime Time Turnabout! This latest installment of the Inverted Fate AU exists in animation format, rather than a comic, and takes place in an Ace Attorney court-styled setting where you:

Join Papyrus as he defends Frisk after their past escapades have cast their actions in a suspicious light. They face the entire Underground, on live TV, with a colorful cast of characters ready to keep them on their toes. Drama! Action! Bloodshed? Well, maybe. Regardless, it’s sure to be a hit with MTT’s ratings.

For more information and context regarding the events of the animation, make sure to check out the Inverted Fate comic, accompanied on the website by custom dynamic borders and music! Stay tuned, though, as Prime Time Turnabout will eventually be a game offering more content demonstrated by the animation.
