HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY TO FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S!!!

I've been a FNaF fan since the very beginning. I only watched playthroughs of the games for a while, then played the old mobile ports, then in late 2017 I finally made my own Steam account and played FNaF 6, then on Christmas I got the rest of the franchise with a gift card. Wonderful times, and it all really got me further into the franchise more than ever.

I remember the first night I ever saw gameplay of it. I was too scared to even go to sleep for the whole night because I was so freaked out ha ha. Poor 12 year old me. Chica was the one who terrified me the most, and she remains as one of my favorite characters in the franchise!

I've been making FNaF fangames as early as late 2014, all of which in a PlayStation video game series titled Little Big Planet. It would be somewhere in 2015 I would make a fangame featuring the CGI versions of The Wiggles from their movie titled Space Dancing, then I would very soon switch to using their puppets due to their creepier nature.

I did this for a long time. Too long, perhaps. Most of my LBP fangames are lost, but I still have a good chunk of the Phobia LBP3 games I made during 2017-2019.

It wasn't until three years ago I would finally step far out of my comfort zone to actually show off some of my work, that being Phobia: The Awakening, a result of trying again and again to start making games on a computer as opposed to a video game limited to PlayStation consoles.

I was very hesitant about releasing Phobia due to not sticking with its source material (The Wiggles). This began to bother me more and more now that it was a public thing I began to seriously care about and not some silly little game for myself.

Thankfully, I made the move to original characters while keeping everything familiar enough. I do not regret the decision in the slightest, and strongly believe I should have done this years ago.

It's been quite the journey being here on Gamejolt, and while it drives me crazy sometimes, it can be a small light in a large abyss of darkness for me.

And I'll say this as a FNaF fan from the start.

I love this franchise a lot. The old and the new stuff are both wonderful and very fun. Do I have my criticisms? Yes, but I can never bring myself to hate any of it like some people do. It's one of the few things out here that just makes me happy no matter what, and that's all that matters to me.

In fact, it's honestly hard for me to hate a lot of things nowadays because I've been so surrounded by negativity.

It has, however, made me feel like an outcast. It's very hard for me to find friends lol.

Anyway, I checked out some things that dropped for the 10th anniversary, and I figured I should give my thoughts on them! (I loved them all, spoiler alert).

I didn't check out MyPOPGOES, mostly due to not having a huge interest in Popgoes, but also because it had a buggy launch and apparently it will get a big bug fix update very soon. I do wish the team luck on getting it all fixed up!

THE JOY OF CREATION's demo was amazing and genuinely terrifying. It was trial and error, but it felt fun all throughout and I'll definitely return to keep playing the demo some more. Super excited for its possible 2025 release!

VIP, a free e-book released by Scholastic, was quite fun. No huge lore stuff but that's honestly a great thing. There's still a lot of connections and neat things to find however, so people who want more details will likely be happy. Looking forward to The Week Before and onwards! This type of book is fun since it's more of a game.

The interview with Scott Cawthon was actually really satisfying and tells me we're in for a good future for FNaF! So many little fun (and also big) things to hear about!

FNaF is coming to DEAD BY DAYLIGHT!!!! Like goodness gracious finally. (The buildup to the announcement was so funny) I had been playing the mobile port for a while now but just recently moved to playing it on Steam. I'm having way too much fun playing it he he. I'm really hoping it's all the movie stuff that gets added in, because that would work the best in my opinion.

Secret of the Mimic was not what I was expecting but it is what I really want to see. I'm still catching up on the Tales from the Pizzaplex books, but from what I know, that game has the potential to be a very distressing, tragic game. It's the number one thing I'm looking forward to next year no doubt!

Five Laps at Freddy's had its first early demo release, and I went into the mindset knowing this game was still an early work in progress due to what they had mentioned on Steam. Yes, it needs a lot of polish, but always, always remember to give constructive feedback. The game can't be improved if nobody can actually say what's wrong with it. I don't play karting games like at all, nor was I expecting it to be genre redefining. I was expecting a simple FNaF karting game, and that's exactly what it's going to be. It's cute and OH MY GOD THE MUSIC IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!

And Into the Pit. MAN. This game is like, too awesome. It's actually pretty scary, everything is so well crafted, and there's some REALLY awesome things that I'm not going to spoil at all. I'd love to make a game inspired by it someday. It's just so cool.

The behind the scenes teasers for the second movie have been very fun and interesting too! Looking forward to seeing that next year as well!

And Into the Pit was released yesterday instead, apparently, we may or may not get another thing today, so who knows!

Overall, happy 10 years to FNaF! It's the franchise that continues to inspire me and push me to make my own video games, both fan made and original.

HAPPY THIRD ANNIVERSARY TO PHOBIA: THE AWAKENING!

Avast ye...

This teaser was featured in Fangame Direct 2's halftime along with four new gameplay screenshots! (in article)

*looks out the window for a while*

REANIMAL looks incredibly interesting and genuinely terrifying.

Tarsier Studios (developers of Little Nightmares 1 and 2) are really cooking up something special!

It has its flaws (I’m not the best at art but I’m trying to improve he he) but I had to at least draw Freddy for the whole 10 year anniversary thing going on. Really excited for everything!
