Today, April 27th, 2022, marks the 30th anniversary of our beloved pink puffball! And as a special treat, I've got an announcement to make!

So as you know, this game has been sitting in an awkward limbo where the main game is technically complete, but it teases an extra, more difficult game mode after the credits. Well, worry not! I finally picked the project back up and have been working hard to finally finish what I've started! It's not quite ready yet, but I still wanted to celebrate this momentous occasion by making an announcement post.

As for what will be in this final update, I want to try and set this fan game apart from its source material, so I'll be adding an altered version of the original game's "Extra Game," as well as a new unlockable character to play as! I'm doing this in part because I wish to avoid a potential C&D notice, which I've heard is more likely to be given to games that are a complete supplement for Nintendo's original games. So if you want to experience the original game's extra mode, then I encourage you to either grab a copy of the original cartridge or get the game on the 3DS eShop before it closes for good! (Hopefully Nintendo releases Game Boy games for Nintendo Switch Online as well... )

This game has been sitting in the back of my mind for a while now and I feel compelled to finish it before moving onto new projects, but I don't want to rush it. I'm not sure how long it will take me, but at the very least I feel confident I can make it by the 30th anniversary of the North American release, August 1st.
