Samuel's Holy Quest!

Hello followers! Chris Zflenki here with another progress report.
Honestly, I haven't done a lot on the game besides on improvements and bug-fixes lately, but I have finally finished implementing all improvements. But thats not why im here today.

Today, I am here to discuss the future of this little project.

For reasons that will be explained later, we might be moving from this page in a while - but more on that when it actually gets relevant. Just know that the game will receive its new build around that time, now with all the improvements and the third boss included!

A planned feature i’d like to discuss are Skill Points!
Skill Points are, in addition to the score you receive, something you get upon killing enemies.
When you get enough skill points, you can equip and unlock Spells by spending these Skill Points at certain places in the game.

Spells can range from cool elemental attacks, healing and stat boosts to mind-boggling powers like Soul Transfer. Look forward to this feature in the future!

One of the main reasons this feature exists is because right now, if you’re not going for the score, killing enemies is pretty much useless. You could just skip through the whole game without killing a single enemy.

Two other things i want to discuss are Chests and the Statue of Deceased, both of which you can already see in the build - but that don’t seem to do anything.

The chests will later contain all sorts of stuff : Weapons, the not-yet-implemented Armor, extra skill points and extra score. You can only open a chest when you have killed all enemies in the room.

Now, I can’t explain what the Statue of Deceased are as of et due to spoiler reasons - just know that they’re going to be an important plot point once i have re-written the dialogue and scenes!
Yes, this silly dumb game is planned to have an actual story, cutscenes etc. They just haven’t been implemented yet - I want to focus on the gameplay first.

Now, i think that’s all.

See ya’ll in a few weeks!

What feature are you most excited for?

Working on area 4. When this area is done, I'm going to revise all the others. Make them lengthier, add scenes, dialogue, npc's etc. Also skill points are implemented now, so that's cool.

New Build coming up somewhere this week! It'll contain 3 weapons to choose from and 3 bosses!

Just as Pecaminosa's musicians #improvise this rendition of #LittleSunflower 🌻, so do we improvise with this post you're reading. 😂

What's coming out of your own improvs? 🤔
