NOTE: MOST OF THESE WERE CONCEPTED DURING SW/SH'S ADVERTISING CYCLE BEFORE THE GAMES WERE RELEASED, ALTHOUGH SOME INFO WAS ADDED MORE RECENTLY. KEEP THAT IN MIND.
Bogepi: One of my first, and the start of what's probably closest to a modern-day Ecologically Similar Pokemon (which is such a stupid temp-name for shit like wiglett dear god bulbapedia). Essentially this line is like an evil fake counterpart to Togepi. Bogepi resembles Togepi with washed out colors, light gray skin rather than tan, and a sinister expression. Upon rereading my original note, apparently the idea was for it to have a 10% chance to hatch from an egg that would otherwise hatch into Togepi.
Bogetic: One of Bogepi's two divergent evolutions, contrasting Togepi's standard 3-in-a-row line. Based on Togetic, and has similar changes to Togepi, except since it has no shell, the gray is everything but the symbols, and rather than sinister, it looks fully angry and determined.
Bogeshark: The other evolution of Bogepi, being a sort of villainous redesign of Togekiss that makes it look closer to a Sharpedo. Presumably would result from evolving Bogepi while surfing. Has a smug and haughty expression, and is sort of a play on the term "card shark."
Regional Seedot/Nuzleaf/Shiftry: My take on a fire/grass line. Didn't put much thought into this except the idea that they were intended to be volcano foliage. As of writing this, I have the idea to make Seedot resemble one of those volcanic meteors from the Mario series that make no fucking sense when you think about them for more than a second, but that's about it.
Regional Pineco: A fairy/grass type that's pretty in pink and joyfully bounces around the forest. I apparently thought it should be a rival counterpart to the Regional Seedot line, considering it evolves when it KOs a Seedot in the note, so that's a thing I guess.
Flittercone: The Regional Evolution of the Pineco, which was created before we had any idea Regional Evolutions existed! Essentially a bigger Pineco with graceful fairy wings, I guess. I mostly think I just came up with it because the Pineco/Forretress transition was always weird to me, and I just don't really like Forretress very much.
Regional Spinarak/Ariados: Used a custom Pokemon type I had come up with, Sound, which in hindsight, was weirdly specific. They're blue, and their thing was inspired by the Spinarak description of being able to tell which Pokemon touched their threads from the vibration, and the Ariados description of letting prey free with a long strand of web tied to them, so they leave a toilet paper trail back to their nest (which is one of those really weird and fucked Pokedex entries nobody talks about along with Primeape getting so angry it fucking dies). Essentially, they leave traps of one strand of web as a tripwire, and hurry off to catch their prey when they sense the trap being hit. They're also diehard loners, and the Ariados in particular hate the other members of their species so much that they will go out of their way to tug on each others' lines to confuse and trick them.
Vibrachid: Originally I called it Spidersonic, because I couldn't think of anything better. Now I have thought of something better. Hooray. The final evolution of the Regional Spinarak line, it's a very big, fuzzy tarantula. Its special power is that it can send special vibrations down the webs of Ariados to muddle their senses and basically brainwash them into doing its bidding.
Regional Dratini/Dragonair: A steel/dragon line, they look like little steel-plated knights in shining armor. Dragonair's horn specifically resembles a jousting lance.
Dragoknight: The evolution of the Regional Dragonair, which is somehow both an Ecologically Similar Pokemon and a Regional Evolution at the same time before either existed, in a way. I mostly made it because Dragonite looks nothing like its precursors, and also because I don't like Dragonite. You level these little shits up that much expecting a beautiful, menacing dragon, and all you get is this goddamn dopey orange thing that looks like Barney's weird uncle. Dragonknight is an enormous winged serpent with a giant jousting lance horn. I wrote that there's apparently a long-lasting urban legend revolving around the sun being seen behind the tip of its horn, but that it's been around so long that nobody remembers if it's a good or bad omen. Since it has no legs, it can use magic to give itself some if it needs to walk, but I wrote down here that when it does so it resembles an "awkward brontosaurus".
Fluffet: An original mid-evo for Sentret and Furret, because I couldn't understand how an oval-shaped flying squirrel with bunny ears and a prehensile raccoon tail turned into a fucking ginormous but otherwise completely normal ferret in the span of like 10 seconds. Basically it's a really small, bean-shaped and extra-fluffy Furret with a long-ish but thin and not-so-sturdy tail with the same fur pattern as its body, as well as floppy bunny ears. I originally concepted it as a baby form, with Sentret originally not existing and somehow evolving into the middle in response to danger in the area, and it was basically just a short Furret, but... that's dumb, so I changed it to more of a bridge between them.
Regional Dunsparce: Obviously made long before Dudunsparce (which is still so fucking stupid) existed. A variant of Dunsparce that due to "regional energy" (yes that's the exact term I used, it was never explained) it has gained the ability to fly like it always wanted to. It apparently has darkvision and lives in caves still, but flies freely at night.
Abundunce: Another Regional Evolution before they existed, this is supposed to be like a royal Dunsparce or a leader or whatever. It's like a really big Dunsparce with crown-shaped scales on its scalp that has its bottom half buried in a large pile of fruit that functions as both a throne and a place for offerings from its subjects. Actually pretty proud of this one still.
Regional Ekans/Arbok: A fairy/poison and fairy/dark typing respectively. The Ekans are actually kind, and have their yellow and purple sections flipped in their design. The Arbok are mean still, and are like evil fae kinda.
Kingbra: An optional other evolution for the Ekans, which is nice to contrast the snide and villainous Arbok. It's a sworn protector of the forest with moves that help it guard its partners in double and triple battles.
Regional Litwick: A food/fire type, because I was one of those food-type believers. Essentially, it was chased out of its normal habitats by a fully original fakemon of mine, and moved to the forest, where it was welcomed by the local combee, which it protected. Its diet gradually moved from souls to honey, so now it's a beeswax candle! I had come up with two original evolutions instead of Lampent and Chandelure, but I never wrote anything other than their names, and they probably wouldn't be very interesting, so I'm tentatively keeping this one as a no-evo.
Regional Skitty/Delcatty: A normal/fire type. The biggest change is that their respective pink and purple parts are red and orange respectively, and Skitty's little tan orb things on its tail are orange as well.
Delcatty: A divergent evo for Skitty, like Kingbra, which is scarlet on its whole body and has amber eyes. Evolved from Skitty using a fire stone. Apparently has a similar build to Delcatty but without the poofy parts. Also it apparently had Flash Fire as an ability.
Skarmini: A baby form for Skarmory, which appears as a tiny metal chick. Hatched from a Skarmory egg if the Skarmory was holding a TR for Steel Wing.
Skarmorer: One of Skarmory's two evos I came up with, when evolved during the day when it's not raining. Looks like an older and tougher Skarmory with an extra pair of wings, and has an ability that lowers its defense but raises its special defense when it's raining.
Skarmurai: The other Skarmory evo. You get this when it's evolved at night, no specification about rain on this one. It essentially is a warrior, and has a peacock tail made of katanas.
Wisma: An evolution for Magcargo, which has been leveled up in the rain. It's like a bigger Magcargo that's fully hardened into stone, with a wise-looking mustache made out of frozen steam. Its ability raises its defense but lowers its special defense every turn.
Regional Lapras: A ghost/water Lapras that's a whole-ass skeleton, which I made before Galarian Corsola and Cursola were revealed (or at least before I knew about them) but with the same general inspiration. There are a few Pokedex entries about Lapras being endangered as fuck, so I took that and ran with it. Apparently its ability makes it immune to electric-type moves.
Regional Larvitar/Pupitar/Tyranitar: Steel/electric, based entirely on the Mecha-Tyranitar from Pokestar Studios in B2W2. Apparently constantly clashes with Duraludon, which I think I added after SWSH released and I played it. When the Tyranitar is hit by a physical attack, it changes to its "ShellDropped" form, which is electric/dragon, has higher speed but lower defense, and has its ability change to Static. Entertainingly, the idea of making an actual Pokemon out of Mecha-Tyranitar was done as Iron Thorns, but I think mine is much more interesting.
Houndomitable: A third evolution for Houndoom, which requires hitting a certain level with two Houndour in the party. Based on Cerberus, it's a three-headed hellhound with a fearsome appearance. Its ability makes it immune to sleep and confusion, because even if one head is resting or confused, the other two are fine.
Regional Onix: A rock/ice Onix made of incredibly hard ice that almost looks like crystal.
Crystallix: An equivalent to Steelix for the Regional Onix, its ice has become so unbreakable and unmeltable that it's actually made of crystal now.
Regional Absol: A normal/fairy type. Rather than a sign of bad luck, it's considered a sign of good luck. Its fur is somewhat fluffier, with the fluffy but non-functional wings from Mega Absol, the deep blue skin is now a valiant purple, and its horn is changed from a scythe or sickle shape to that of a crescent moon.
Girafaretch: One of two custom evos for Girafarig before Farigiraf existed (farigiraf sux lol). It's pointy and has a green palette, and its tail stretches back as if elastic, and uses the energy to lunge forward and bite things as it snaps back. Inspired by the stretch plants in the Super Mario Galaxy games.
Giraflail: The other one, representing blunt weapons rather than piercing weapons like Girafaretch. It's a dull gray and has an abundance of barding, and its tail-head is attached by a chain made of bone, which it uses to spin the head around like a flail. Inspired by that Zelda game that had a Chain Chomp flail as a weapon.
Regional Ledyba/Ledian: Rock/bug type. Ill-tempered and destructive, they look like they're wearing sunglasses and their wings are replaced by a rocky carapace.
Ledyboom: A third evolution for the Regional Ledian. Somewhat resembles an Orbeetle, as its carapace is large and dome-shaped, made up of a bunch of smaller rocks rather than being a flat surface. It explodes these rocks outward in self-defense.
Glifrost: An alternate evolution for Gligar, because I really like Gligar and Gliscor sucks. It's furry and icy-blue, visually based on a yeti, with the same eye-covering emo hair as Deino, although fluffier of course. Its flying-squirrel skin flaps are now a fuzzy pelt.
The following ones I came up with much more recently.
Sprouting Legs/Tyrantula: A Past Paradox equivalent to Tyranitar based on Jorōgumo, which has spider legs sprouting from its back. Originally came from me thinking of it as a pun on tarantula.
Platitu: I realized Latios and Latias could easily feel like Future and Past Paradox forms of something else, like Miraidon and Koraidon to Cyclizar, I decided to make one. Meet Platitu, a pun on plane, latitude, and platitude. It's like a smaller but more aerodynamic mix of the two of them, and is completely white, since the main distinguishing feature of Latios and Latias is their colored accents.
Thanks for reading all the way to the bottom. Feel free to make fanart of any of these, @ me if you post it. If you would like to use any of these in a fangame, please ask me for permission first.
