Hey (Devlog)


Howdy there! Okay, let's just get to why it's been 3 months of no news. (Skip if you're just interested in the Devlog lol)

Don't wanna write a whole paragraph, so I'll make it simple. I was just burnout, while there was work done, it was indeed very minimal. Mostly gameplay changes and cosmetical changes. The most annoying thing really is just that I have the whole story already done, as in written. I just needed to actually get to it. Anyways..

At this point you know how this goes. Gameplay changes :

- Demoman has received a change to his passive once more, because honestly he felt like a diet version of CC freddy. His passive is now "Retribution Stance", each time he gets hit, he receives a ATK buff (10%) and a VERY small DEF increase (2%). This can stack up to 10, basically doubling his damage and giving him an extra 20% DEF.

- Two of demoman's skills have been reworked once again. I don't believe the reworked moves were in the original demo, but I'm mentioning it just in case.

- Minor stat changes to both Demoman and Spring Bonnie, pretty sure the same reason I gave last time. It's honestly so slight that I don't remember them.

- Spring Bonnie has had his passive changed as well, from what I recall as I'm writing this, his passive was just a mediocre 25% double action. He keeps that, as well as having the natural ability of dodging magic attacks. And to stay true to his role as a healer, all of his skills now have 2000 Speed, meaning they'll always go first. He may get tweaked once more if I feel it is needed.

- Spring Bonnie's skills are so far the ones that have received the least amount of changes, as I believe them to be fine as is. He has gained a skill that allows him to reverse buffs and debuffs of enemies or allies. (It works the other way around). I think that's it tho.

- Skill formulas have been reworked quite a lot in all honesty. They're definitely better than before.

- Some items such as pizzas and soda have received the added bonus of giving a % of HP/SP back as you may have seen in other games.

- Weapons have received some changes. It's nothing special, just like, lowering the MAT on demoman's weapons as he isn't a magic user.

- Several states such as blind, poison, silence and ect have received some changes to them as to make them more unique. (i.e. blind keeps it's original effect, but it gives the user an added 10% EVA buff since they're stumbling around 'n' shit.)

- Scan has been modified to show all enemies stats.

Cosmetical changes :

- This section is going to be quick and easy, basically, skills descriptions (and item) contain the % chance of a status/debuff being inflicted as well as the Icon of said status if needed. For buffs and debuffs, instead of saying how much it buffs or debuffs DEF for example, It'll just show you the Icon of the debuff, if it's stage one, it'll be the stage one debuff.

- Some mild changes to some characters facesets.

- Changes to some dialogue, as to try to match the personality of characters more, while also trying to not be stuck too much into the usual tropes.

- Updated S.Bonnie's description.

- Changed descriptions of several items, armors and weapons. (Mostly items and weapons.)

- Removed the whole animated character intros, replacing them with simpler image based intros that don't take ages.

- Some graphics (or maps [mostly maps]) can be seen in the pictures posted.

Map Changes :

- Just minor additions to the diner, literally nothing else.

Story Changes :

- Okay, the early game and I mean EARLY game, is done if anything. It's really sad to say that there isn't much done, but that's life. Work has been started on the first real well, story I guess? I'm not fully sure how to word this, my apologies in advance.

- While not done yet obviously, an option will be given to the player to skip the early game once they've completed it. This will be done whenever the game actually gets finished. We're about to get a new fnafb game before this baby drops lol. (Can't wait for Q.E.D.)

Well then.

For the people waiting, sorry lol. I cannot really say anything else. I expected the project to be long, but not this long. In all honesty, when I started reworking the game from the ground up and starting everything from basically zero, I knew it was gonna be time consuming, but geez. I'm starting to see the appeal to making a game with someone else lol.
Honestly, I wish to release a new demo whenever I can get to the 3 am mark and get it done. I don't quite think that'll happen soon though, because, as stated before the game is getting bigger than I could have imagined.

For the few that read to the end, I believe it's fair I state why I redid everything. This will be as short and condensed as it can be. The original game, (before the rework) was practically done. Issue is, it wasn't.. good nor was it something I was proud of. It felt very early FNAFB-ish, with a balance that kinda matched that energy. I was making the game with no clear story and was making shit up as I went. I didn't have anyone to look over my work to get their perspective on it nor do I now, but I had enough clarity to realize what I was making was just ass lmao.

Honestly, while I am sorry for the wait, I stated this before, and I'll say it again, making this is an absolute blast. I'm learning many things as I go and it's fun. Sure, I get burnout here and there, but I'm still loving it.
