I'm gonna hope you take the time to read this and know what really went down.

So first off I was approached by a friend, (at the time I didnt know there account was hacked.) That said their time here was limited, and if I could chat on Discord. I gave them my Discord username and we further chatted there.

^ This is where they told me I had an impersonator and that they had mistakenly reported it.

^ Then after I couldn't find the account, I thought they switched usernames, and google image search couldn't find anything with my stuff.

^ Then they told me I should contact the person in charge of the false report, to fix it and avoid any issues.

And so...

^ I did

^ I went through the things, it seemed normal at the time.

^ It seemed like they tried to make themselves look like a bot here, as they asked me, again. Ilater knew it wasn't a bot, because it's green status changed...

^ Here is where I made, the terrible mistake. I took this for granted, and didn't think much of it, and I changed my email.

^ They then asked me my birthdate associated with the account and the country specified. So I did so, I blurred it here for security purposes. (It's also not my real b-day, Im paranoid :p)

^ This is where I started to feel as if something was wrong, it took me a bit to realise...

^ Then once they did the calls I showed this to a dc server, (tysm everyone in forgotten stories you guys fr saved me) and they all said, it was a scam.

^ I made up a lie to buy me some time to ask the server further. But by then I tried logging into my GJ, and I couldn't, I knew about the email change, but the password was changed too... That's when I knew I was in deep shit, I made up another aggregious lie about my laptops hard drive and my phone not being supported, and somehow, they bought it.

^ I was stressed as hell here, I've emailed GJ support about the account I just needed to wait for them to switch the email back, but that could take days... So I made up some more stuff, I tried to sound as convincing, and even as relatable as possible.

^ Here, is where I pulled off some very, very risky shit, I faked a screenshot, of a bank, (I dont even have a bank account that I own! I only have a cashapp!) And I made a fake authenticator requirement for the sign-in, if I didn't make it quickly they'd know I knew, and would threaten my GJ, as they had it.

^ They bought it but... they said to call them.

And so I lied, about calling them, and made up something that they would believeably say. Somehow, after everything else,

I couldn't believe it though, I bought myself until Monday, and gj definitely would respond by then.

And I went to bed... today, I got up, did my routine, and then immediately checked my email, GJ saw it and changed my email back, I was saved. But I still had to change my password. The link gj gave me didnt work as it was hours ago, I logged in with google by some miracle, and it took me a bit to realise, the only way to rest my password is the password reset at login, and so, I took a risk. I logged back out, and requested a password reset. And I did it in time. They were kicked off the account, –if they werent after the email change– and I got my account fully back. I was so happy.

Then, after I got it back, they sent the last message, asking if I had another site. That is when they found out they got kicked off the account. I was so lucky to change the password in time.

But yeah, I have my account back now, yeah I was dumb, but I made up for it.

And the cherry on top, the friend that got hacked got their account back around the same time I got mine!
