Part 3: THE MISSING KIDS
So here we're including:
Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie, Fritz, Cassidy, Charlie and Elizabeth.
Unfortunately, in the game these kids are only seen during cutscenes, often under shading, or not fully visible within the frame. So here we have few full-body screenshots of their models!
As for the designs behind them, sources varied for each:
Gabriel, Jeremy and Fritz were based off designs @GoldieEntertainment (GFC) had at hand and passed over to me to be used as references, with very few design changes;
Susie was at least half made based off the canon pictures of her available in the Fruity Maze minigame from FNAF 6 / FFPS (they were mostly mugshots, so the rest of her design had to be finished by me;)
Cassidy was widely based off the design most of the fandom appears to have for canon Cassidy (black-haired girl in pigtails and overalls,) and simply changed it into a boy, as Cassidy is male in GFC's version of the lore;
Charlie was based off her description off the books, while her outfit references her relation to the Puppet (stripes,) and the color green (from the Security Puppet minigame from FNAF 6 / FFPS;)
Elizabeth's design was 1:1 from her sprite seen in Baby's 8-Bit minigame from Sister Location, including her colors (meaning she's a ginger rather than blonde.)
Some other interesting facts:
Jeremy has freckles!
Apparently Susie was supposed to have a white bow on her hair much like how Elizabeth has a red one? I must have missed it, but I think GFC gave her the white bow after I sent the model to him.
Fritz has slightly more colorful cheeks if you look closely. He also had a rather formal attire in the design GFC sent me (including a tie and upper part of a tux,) which seemed a bit odd for a regular child so I tweaked it into a slightly more casual design, by removing the tie and making the tux look more like a jacket or button-up shirt.
On another note, did you know the kids have a small snuck in detail referencing the animatronics each of them end up bound to? Most of their backs were just a solid color with no detail, so I was like "Why not?"
(Susie has Chica's cupcake rather than Chica's head)
The exception to this are Cassidy, Charlie and Elizabeth; Cassidy has far more detail on his back stemming from his overalls, while both Charlie and Elizabeth have long hair that fall over their backs.
When GFC figured out a way to give models different expressions, which he intended to use for the NPC kids during gameplay, I did those, but also offered to make expressions for the Missing Kids as well, imagining those could be used to allow them to change expressions during their respective cutscenes.
Unlike with the NPC kids which GFC requested specific expressions (scared and dead,) for the Missing Kids I gave them varying expressions according to their diaolgue and context of their cutscenes. However, if I recall correctly, those were not implemented into the game by GFC as of the time of this post at least; that means that up to now, these classify as unused / scrapped content:
The angry expressions were all for the cutscene where William gets confronted by his past victims as well as Henry. However I was struggling with the design for those so, like with the NPC kids' dead expressions, I made different angry versions.
(Additionally, I could not remember whether or not Elizabeth appeared in that cutscene as well and couldn't easily verify it at the time, so I gave her angry expressions as well mostly "just in case.")
And that's about it for the Missing Kids' Killer In Purple 2 BTS! There's still a lot more fun stuff from the game that I can ramble about! So stay tuned for when I do! Until next time!
