high School Week Nº 7:

ㅤㅤI am pure stupidity

"Who came naked to class?"

ㅤㅤ- Chemistry teacher asking who didn't bring a periodic table to class

MONDAY 25/03

ㅤㅤThe scores for last week's Physics exam were available this day and I honestly was expecting far worst results. They were just a bit lower than max scores and one of my classmates which I was paired with didn't understand why it wasn't max score, considering he couldn't figure out what we got wrong. Then he theorized that the question we got wrong was the one I did and it probably was, to be honest.

TUESDAY 26/03

ㅤㅤThere was an Instrumental Physics test this day and it somehow wasn't that bad... or at least I thought it wasn't that bad.

ㅤㅤWe had a paired Chemistry test. The teacher, a few weeks back, gave us an exercise to practice for the test and what almost everyone in class had pointed out the most was the amount of questions which were about things she either didn't teach or briefly mentioned. On top of that, she didn't show any sign that she was going to correct those exercises anytime soon, which eventually made one of my classmates sent her an email requesting her to correct the exercises. She not only corrected the email, but also only corrected the questions my classmates weren't sure about instead of correcting all questions. For some time, all of that resulted in a few jokes about what was going to be in the test, with things like "There's probably going to be a questions that asks you to create a new atomic model and explain it", but eventually it kinda became a concern in regards to what actually was going to be in the test. A few classes before we were going to do the test, the teacher warned us that she wouldn't be the one applying the exam. When the moment arrived, we formed the pairs and the teacher that was going to apply the test informed that she couldn't be in the classroom, as she had to teach in another one, meaning she wouldn't be observing us during a majority of the test. Probably don't need to tell how almost all concern faded away from most people. I didn't cheat though, I might be an idiot but I'm not an irresponsible one... I think.

The test wasn't even that bad and the questions me and the classmate I was paired weren't sure about were because we weren't remembering the answers.

ㅤㅤAt Art class, I finally decided to show the teacher some of my art... which was the cover for Super Negative # 1... He asked me if I was writing it and if I could show him the pages and then braindead me said I had uploaded the issues online. He asked me to show the site where I had uploaded them and he began then read the beginning of one of the issues in class. Worst part? One of my classmates probably saw it. He then closed the tab and said he was going to read it at home and tell me his opinions next week... Alright, now 5 teachers know about my webcomic. Gotta keep my mouth shut more often.

ㅤㅤIn Portuguese class, we had to present our groups projects. And when I mean "we" and "our", I mean my other classmates, as there wasn't enough time to present all projects.

WEDNESSDAY 27/03

ㅤㅤWe had a Biology test this day and similar concerns as the Chemistry test appeared, but it was instead because we didn't had much to study, especially considering last week's Biology class was canceled because of the gymkhana, but most of those concerns vanished once the teacher noticed how some questions in the test were about things she didn't had taught yet, which made her no consider those question when grading. But those question end up being roughly two thirds of the whole exam, so the teacher proposed us to make 2 more questions and answer those, which is quite an interesting way to solve that problem. I not only answered all of the questions, but also made 3 more questions instead of 2. I might be stupid but I manage to be more than anyone else.

ㅤㅤAfter General Chemistry class, the teacher was chatting with one of my classmates, whose also an artist, and asked him if he liked drawing. A few weeks prior, I had helped him learn basic perspective and thought it was a good idea to ask if he was having any troubles. Upon doing that, the teacher asked if I was also an artists, which I confirmed and she asked if I could show her any art I did. Once again, air head me showed her the cover for Super Negative # 1 and 2 of my classmates also saw it. They complimented it, but the fact that now 6 teachers know about it just makes me mad at myself for being unable to just not talk of show people about my comic... at least for teacher, as I still haven't mentioned anything about it to any of my classmates.

ㅤㅤIn Portuguese class, the remaining groups presented their projects. And when I mean "remaining", I mean the groups that remained except for the one I was in. We end up needing to present the project next week. I'm not even part of people that were going to present it, but I was reading a book about the topic that my group's project is about since back when I was doing part of the research for it, but kept reading in case I had to present some part of the project or answer any question the teacher was going to make. Even after our presentation was rescheduled to next week, I still kept reading the book, because I am the best at being dumb.

MONDAY 01/04

ㅤㅤLast week the English teacher informed us that, on Mondays, we would staying at another class' classroom, as theirs was better than ours and they didn't have classes in the evening. We had an English test at that classroom, but afterwards, when it was almost time for History class, the class had the idea to turn of the lights, close the door and stay quiet to fool the History teacher, since we weren't in the classroom we usually stay in. It probably scrapped a few minutes off History class, but it was basically just that, as the school's supervisor noticed the class shutting the door and the teacher probably told him she couldn't find our class, which made him figure we were the class she was looking for and couldn't because of the different classroom and the door being closed. Anyway, she gave us a group assignment, how neat...

TUESDAY 02/04

ㅤㅤIn Instrumental Physics, the teacher divided the class in multiple pair in order to help each other correct their test. The way she separated the pairs was based on the scores, with someone who got a good score being paired with someone who got a bad one. I end up being paired with the same person I was paired with in the General Chemistry class and when the teacher told that I was already expecting my score to be the bad one. And it was... by a literally a decimal compared to my classmate's score. Does that mean I'm getting as smart as them? I mean, we practically got the same questions wrong... Never mind, I'm still an absolute air-head.

ㅤㅤIn Chemistry class, the teacher didn't grade the tests yet.

ㅤㅤIn Portuguese class, my group finally got to present and it roughly took around 24 minutes to do so... In a 100 minute class... And I didn't present, since I wasn't part of the people that were going to present, but despite that was still reading a book about the topic the group was presenting, which I only picked up to do research that I had finished several weeks prior. Anyway, she dismissed us early.

WEDNESDAY 03/04

ㅤㅤWe had our second Lab class and it somehow was worse than the first. The school didn't had a large quantity of, so the teacher divided us into 2 large groups rather than 10 small ones, like last time. It was supposed to be a simple procedure of separating alcohol from water, but the group I was in had end up boiling ethanol. They had forgotten to measure the mass of the water and alcohol mixture and put it straight into the equipment and then someone had the idea to pour it out and boil the glass the mixture was in so the ethanol that got stuck in it could get out. Probably don't need to mention that the smell of ethanol was already showing how that wasn't a very good idea. I might be the dumbest person in my class, but at least I'm a bit responsible with the lab equipment, I mean... there was someone about to place the thermometer we were going to use under their armpit to measure their body temperature, someone managed to open a locked closet full of samples and some of my classmates were just picking up stuff from it, the other group spilled some ethanol, someone sniffing mercury, not to mention the already mentioned idea of boiling ethanol. In the end, my group couldn't complete the procedure and the substance turned yellowish, while the other group managed to almost perfectly separate the mixture. It failing surprisingly was not my fault, as I just sat down and waited my group to get it done, since there wasn't much room for me to do anything anyway. Also, no broken glass this time, so I guess that's progress.

ㅤㅤWe had a test in Portuguese class, not a paired test though, it was a group test. Each group, that were the same as the ones from the group projects, did the test together. The person I did the General Chemistry test and the correction of the Instrumental Physics tests with was in my group and that's the sole reason I'm not expecting a low score on that test.

THURSDAY 04/04

ㅤㅤWe had another Lab class, although this time it was part of another teacher's subject. Nothing much happened this time, probably because the teacher explicitly told us to be careful with the equipment because some parts break easily. Maybe that's what was missing the other Lab classes.

ㅤㅤThe Math teacher was absent, so we got 2 free classes right before P.E., but that's basically all.

ㅤㅤOh, yeah, there was also Philosophy class. They've been great so far.

FRIDAY 05/04

ㅤㅤWe were told that there wouldn't be any morning classes and that we only needed to go to school in the evening, as 2 teachers were absent. I still tried to go to school a little early in order to finish some homework, but I had forgotten my pencil case at home. Since it was launch time, I figured I could just go back home, get it and go back to school before class started. When I got home, my mom had the idea to get an app driver to get me back to school, as she thought it would be faster. I arrived at the school with some time to spare, but after a few minutes I reach for my pocket and only feel my keys. I had lost my wallet. I sent a message to my mom about it, hoping that she could still contact the driver, but she didn't respond if she was able to. As the day went on, I wanted more and more that my wallet just fell off my pocket while I was still at home, but I still remembered it being in my pocket when I was in the car. I not only was yelled at by my mom once I got home, but losing my wallet did it for me. I can't get much more dumb, idiotic, stupider than this. My physical library card was there (thankfully I still have the digital one), my bus card was there, money that I was saving to buy something for me someday was there and I lost it all out of sheer lack of intelligence.

ㅤㅤWe received the Physics tests and we indeed not get full score because of a question I answered, although it wasn't the one the person I was paired with thought. It was actually a question that had to answered by drawing the trajectory of a falling object in a train from the perspective of someone from inside and outside. Both drawing correctly showed the trajectory, but the teacher didn't understand what direction the train was moving in the outside shot and thought the trajectory was incorrect. As someone who draws comics, something you have to make art understandable enough and avoid making the readers confused as much as possible, that was a great reason for me getting that question wrong.

Sorry for any potential spelling or grammatical mistakes.

If only I had double-checked if my pencil case was in my backpack before leaving home... or if I was wearing jeans, since my wallet wouldn't have fallen out of the jeans I used to wear.

If one more teacher discovers my webcomic than the number will be 7 and 7 is one of my favorite number... Probably should keep it at 6, though. Actually, it should've stopped at 1.
