Materials:
-Orange shirt, blue sequin sheet, studs, ear headband, and blue, sparkle ribbon were all from the dollar store.
-Red sleeves, cuffs, hat, and earrings where things I already had in hand.
-Makeup was from two different sets. Bought them from two different stores.
Time: Six hours, including the makeup.
1st Pic: The entire outfit.
2nd Pic: The shirt. I'm not a big fan of shoulder pads and it would just get in the way while I'm working. So, I thought, "why not use red sleeves instead?"
I had carefully (or tried my best to do so) removed the orange sleeves. Afterwards, I had removed the sleeves from an old, red shirt and had sewn those on to the orange shirt. Not the prettiest job, I know. I was on a time crunch.
The blue, sequin bolt was cut out from a rectangle sheet. I was going to sew it on, but that was a bit of a hassle. I ended up gluing it down instead.
The black bow tie was from a cat mask costume. Glued on.
3rd Pic: The headband was made from a mask costume, which only consisted of some canine(?) ears (I have no clue what animal it was supposed to be), a tail, and brown bow tie. They were cut down to become bear ears. The inner ear was made from padding that came from an old garment. The earrings were my late grandma's. She used to make costumes as well.
Question: Did I put the earring on the right side or not? I think it's correct in this picture, but not on the 8th or 9th ones.
4th Pic: I had an old, silver, sparkly new year's hat that I've painted black. I had glued on the blue ribbon.
5th Pic: Cuffs were made from straps of some sort and bedazzle material for studs.
6th Pic: Ditto
7th Pic: Nails to be used as claws. I ran out of time to apply them. I was trying to dye a pair of white gloves orange, but that was a bust. Originally, the gloves were going to be orange and have the nails attached to them. I hate wearing acrylic nails. Hard to take my contacts out with them on and a pain to have on while dealing with a touchscreen computer.
8th, 9th, and 10th Pics: Me. I know. The makeup is a bit sloppy. Again, time crunch. This has probably been one of my favorite costumes to wear. I know the makeup on the chin was absent. I didn't know if the makeup would stain or not. If it did, I didn't want to worry about looking like I have a soul patch after removing it. π
It's fun creating your own costume. Also, I've always wanted to experiment and wear costume makeup. π I think I'm going to try to fix it up and make it look a little more professional, now that I have a lot more time.
