First of all, I’ll cover the content added in the game lately. Then, as told in the last newsletter, I’ve attended the Gamescom, so I feel that’s important to share with you my honest feedback of this first experience. Indeed, it has some involvement on what’s coming next for the game. AANNND, for the end I have some great news I’m really excited to announce you.
THE GAME
There’s not a lot She allows me to tell. I can’t be too specific. Let’s say I’ve been working on a more “crowded” area where you can meet a bunch of main characters. These encounters will be the opportunity for you to learn more about characters’ personalities. I’m really happy how these events turn out in the game.^^
I’ll make it short. Attending gamescom was a way for me to get in touch with editors and potential investissors. I tried my best to play the game of the “video games industry business”. Meaning, selling Don’t Kill Her to a bunch of interested people like a product and not the actual game I’m making. Trust me, there’s a real difference. It’s amazing how many people told me they were interested in narrative games… without even adressing any question about the actual narrative.¯_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, in the end nothing happened. Don’t take it wrong. I met a lot of inspiring people, journalists, other indies and it was great! But when it comes to Don’t Kill Her itself, I feel like the game just can’t fit with the overall politics of the industry. This is just a waste of energy to force it to happen. The good news is, I’m now totally okay with that statement. The downside is that I’m still lacking budget to keep working fulltime on the game, so the release of the game will take more time than I wished for. Again, I’m fine with that. But eh… let’s be honest, the urge to publish something soon is haunting me.
I’ve been working on this game for a while now and I feel like it needs to “pop out”, somehow. So… I still need to give it second thoughts but I might have a plan I’ll share with you soon. This might be enjoyable as much for me than for you, so… we’ll see about that! Can’t tell you much ‘till I’m sure it’s doable. ;)
The amazing news is… Don’t Kill Her has been nominated for the Indiecade Europe selection! It’s such an honor and a huge excitation for me to be part of this amazing event among a lot of other cool projects. I seriously can’t wait to be there :]
In the meantime, I wish you a wonderful day and thank you again for your support and patience.
Your dear forever, Wuthrer
