When you download Phobia: The Awakening, you should be given a zipped folder containing the .exe and a bunch of other files, including a folder that holds even more. Those files are important for the game to run.
Upon starting the game, a small console screen will show up. This is normal for any Blender game. Eventually the game should start, but this is the issue people are having.
The game does not start, and some say it slows their computer down and also the console closes. My biggest guess is it has something to do with their computers, but I’m unsure. Blender games are only 64bit from what I’ve read and I don’t know if that’s the issue. I don’t know much about the tech-side of things like that yet.
It’s kept at a 1920 by 1080 screen, and I doubt that would cause a problem for people who have screens that are a smaller size. Then again, Blender’s game engine is a mysterious little freak that can do what it wants sometimes, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the problem somehow.
Many people seem like they can play the game though. I know it runs well on everything I have tested it on, and all of the computers are using windows 10 and some are fairly new.
It’s an issue I wish I could understand but there’s just no way for me to see it myself, and it’s really unfortunate that it’s happening for some players, even if it’s a small amount. Either way, I hope I could find a solution someday.
