I think I'll share some info about Arcade Mode for Reshined. Here's how it works:
This time, POINTs actually function like real arcade points. Instead of being based on how long you survive (like in Cube's Dark Hours 4), they’re now calculated based on character AI levels.
The higher the AI, the more POINTs you can earn... but only if you successfully handle the character. It’s not about just lasting a certain amount of time anymore; you actually have to interact, react, and survive properly to rack up a score.
“Soft Resets” make a return… but they’re different this time around. Instead of activating every 9 minutes like CDH4, they now happen every 6 minutes.
What do they do? They decrease every character’s AI by 1–2. But there’s a catch: the characters get faster. Yep, imagine them all at max AI running around every 2–3 seconds :D
Already mentioned this before, but I’ll say it again:
Arcade Mode POINTs and the milestone stars they award do not count toward game progression. They’re just optional rewards for fun and bragging rights.
Off-topic, but you might be wondering why I didn’t do something like this for CDH4; the first time Arcade Mode appeared in the series with v1.1.
In CDH4, POINTs were time-based because I didn’t really know how to implement them properly. Plus, it was my first attempt at an endless night system. It worked, but it didn’t really feel like an “arcade.” This time, I wanted it to reward skill and active play instead of just surviving.
TL;DR: if you want high POINTs, you’ll need to earn them.
