I have a big problem with a specific part of the fandom and how this could negatively affect future FNAF projects and return them to mediocrity.
First of all, this is just my point of view, but it's something I've been thinking about for a long time, and I'm especially concerned about the upcoming FNAF 3 movie. I will give my opinion on this.
First, let's talk about the “essence of FNAF.” What do I mean by this?
Well, there is something that has characterized FNAF and makes it feel like FNAF, and that's what I call “the essence” (well, at least in the Spanish-speaking community, that's the term used; I don't know if the English-speaking community uses the same term, but I'll call it that anyway).
What is the problem? For many, its essence lies in the classic games, the Clickteam era! Yes, they were unique in their gameplay, ideas, and horror, and I understand why many love them. I mean, even I love those classic games. However, this also causes many fans to be blinded by nostalgia over the years. I know why they played the games or simply never played them but saw YouTubers like Markiplier play them.
But obviously, FNAF wasn't going to stay that way forever. Sooner or later, it was going to evolve, and that's what happened. What happened? FNAF went from being a Clickteam game to a 3D game like Help Wanted to a Free Room game like SB and SOTM.
And these games are objectively much better than Scott's and had more quality, especially Into the Pit and SOTM. But there is one complaint that, in my opinion, has no basis whatsoever: ''that it no longer feels like FNAF, that it's just another generic horror mascot, that it's a copy of Poppy Playtime''.
I understand those complaints, but at the same time, it's silly to hate a game just because... ''It doesn't feel like FNAF''
1-The game is anything but generic. I had some excellent ideas, even some unique ones like The Mimic, a single enemy controlling suits, and most of the ideas were executed well!
2- A copy of Poppy Platime??? Yeah, right, sure PP invented puzzles and definitely wasn't inspired by Bendy.
3-People who don't like SOFM are most likely blinded by nostalgia for the classic games.
They hate SOTM just because it doesn't feel like FNAF, which proves my point that fanaticism for the classic series blinds them. I mean, come on, They give us something of good quality, and it also has the BEST story Scott has done to date with this franchise, and you dare to say it's a bad game???
AAAH, but at the same time that those fans hated SOFM, they loved FNAF 2 MOVIE, because “it feels like FNAF.”
And okay, I even think that as an adaptation it was good, in fact better than the first movie. But the narrative IS TERRIBLE. The movie is objectively very bad (I'm still angry at Scott for this, he went from making a good story like SOTM to making a horrible story like FNaF 2 MOVIE, he literally took a step backwards).
And here's my problem: fans continue to hate good products but at the same time continue to praise mediocre or bad products.
Let's be realistic for a moment, OK?
Do you think the FNaF games are as good as you remember them?
Well, most of them are NOT. I would even dare to say that in certain ways, they have aged badly over time.
FNaF 2 has bad gameplay design and bad balance, as it requires luck to win.
FNaF 3 was a mediocre boss fight.
FNaF SL is more like a movie than a game, and it has things that are not enjoyable at all, such as night 4.
FNaF 6 has very mediocre and uninteresting gameplay.
FNaF 1, 4, and UCN are the only really good games in the classic series, All this objectively speaking.
And if you compare those games with the latest ones that have come out, you realize that there has been an incredible increase in quality (except for SB, that game was a disaster and for me that game killed the horror of FNaF forever) and yet these games are less appreciated. (The only game that was well received in its entirety was Into The Pit, but I literally think everyone has forgotten about that game because I haven't seen anyone talking about it anymore).
And they continue to praise mediocrity things like the movies or continue to treat the classic games as the best in the world, or some even clamor for FNAF to return to point and click... This meme that a dude sent me on my server perfectly describes a certain part of the fandom.

Well, there's also that saying, “the fans haven't even played the games,” and I'm starting to believe it.
Think about it, if this continues, what does the future hold for FNAF?
What makes you think they won't deliver something good if they continue to be underestimated and mediocre things are praised?
The most likely scenario is that FNAF will return to mediocrity as before.
And here comes my biggest concern, which is that FNAF 3 MOVIE will also be bad and will only focus on “classic fanservice for FNAF fans” and leave the narrative aside because, of course, fanservice is the only thing we want, right?
Let's imagine something. What do you think would happen if FNAF 3 movie ended up being a good movie but as an adaptation it wasn't very good?
Personally, I would be celebrating because we finally got a good movie, but I'm sure fans would hate it because “it had little fan service, it's nothing like FNaF 3, it doesn't feel like FNaF.”
In fact, the FNAF 1 MOVIE received this kind of criticism, so I wouldn't be surprised if this happened again with FNaF 3 MOVIE.
But if it ends up being “the worst movie of the decade,” eh, but it was an incredible adaptation of the game. I'm sure the fans would overrate it again and love it, even though it will be horrible. The story of FNaF 2 MOVIE will repeat itself. Blumhouse will think they're doing well, they won't improve, and they'll settle for giving us bad movies.
What I'm saying is that we should stop being blinded by fanaticism and not hate a good FNAF product just because “it's not like it used to be.”
Things change, not everything is forever. I feel something similar. I miss the FNAF fangames from 2015-2018, However, that doesn't mean I'm going to hate all modern games and say, “This game is bad, it's not like Jolly”
If something good comes out of FNAF, please support it because it deserves it, and if you have complaints, make sure they are fundamental and related to the game. SOTM isn't perfect, it has its flaws, but things like that are worth criticizing, rather than saying something like, “It's not FNAF, it looks like Poppy Playtime.”
If they give us something really bad like FNAF 2 MOVIE, criticize it so they don't give us the same thing again, but do so with respect and be reasonable. Don't attack the creators with insults.
I didn't want to make this post because I felt it would cause a fight or something like that, I don't like that, but I didn't want to stay silent, so I said what I had to say.
If you have a different point of view or something like that, or if I misjudge something I say and you disagree, you can tell me
