I just finished playing sonic frontiers (the switch version) so heres a lil review


Honestly it was a little disappointing, i saw so much potential in this game, but it all seemed wasted. Everything was so buggy and i could see the mal literally remdering in front of me, last night i was easily softlocked in a rock when i played with Amy, idk, for a recent game it seemed to have many issues with optimization, and it definetly did affect the gameplay. Besides that, another thing i really didnt like is how repetitive it is. Like, youre saying i have a massive island to wander and do missions and stuff, but its never really used to its full potential, i played in hard mode and felt like it was in baby mode because the challenges werent really challenging, except for that one where you need to quickly collect a bunch of yellowish balls, it was super hard for some reason. Anyways, after finishing the first island it was already sorta beginning to feel a little too.. Boring, but mostly,repetitive. I was super invested in the story tho, and a good point is how they dont ignore the past games, and also have one of the best characters, Sage, introduced. I think that like, Sage and Tails are the best characters in the franchise. Either way, i found it really strange that after finishing 2 islands the game came up with that pinball minigame and the space shooter one, like, it felt really random, but easy nevertheless, and it felt really forced that the final boss was also in a space shooter kinda game, like, for the 3 islands we beat the bosses was with an (easy) super sonic battle, but now its like this? Super lame, and lost the opportunity to give me another sick ass song, because oh my god theres so many good ones. But then sgain, theres another thing i really hated that Sega keeps pushing in these last games, its that every sonic game has to have green hill or any level from the og's. Its so annoying and honestly lazy. Like, sonic mania had in total, only 4 new levels, the rest were all remakes (not counting the special stage and final boss), and once again we see history repeat itself. From sonic generations to this game it has always been this way, and it really annoys me, but then again, its only in the cyberspace levels, so its sorta fine i guess, but still, what i feel like is that they saw mario odyssey and wanted to do something like that with sonic, but in the end i feel like this game pretends to be something it isnt, all missions you have to do is like, get from point A to B in the map, talk with tails/knuckles/amy/sage then procced, get emeralds, fight the giant titan or whatever and move on to the next island. After the third island it does get a little different, but its minimal and doesnt really matter. Overall a pretty okay game, but its nothing fantastic, its what generations could be, but it still isnt that good, id give it a 6/10. I really like how they finally seemed to get Tails' personality right, since in generations-forces he wasnt really the tails we saw in adventure. Another thing im tired of seeing is that we see amy, knuckles and tails, and we only get to talk, not play with them, and what this game does isnt really the way i wanted to play with them, its just like playing with sonic, but with a triple jump, no special abilities.

By the way, this is how the mask came to be! I bought it and it came with the UGLIEST paint EVER, but then with the wonderful help of my sister who knows how to handle ink and stuff, we were able to make puppet look like the puppet again

Photo dump of the event! It was truly amazing, honestly im proud of myself, i was able to stay 3+ hours without drinking or eating anything while walking around in circles and taking photos with LOTS of people, all the while i played with them :)
